Thanks, it was quite long getting it all done haha.

But at least it's been taken care of.

Leaking Thermostat Repair on the 305.

Since the 1984 Bonneville, had leak problems on the thermostat. I figured I'd share just how easy and simple it is to repair.

You need the following tools to complete the work.

1. Socket for removing the 10MM bolt.
2. Scraping tool.
3. Acetone.
4. Some RTV.
5. New gasket.

It's step by step ...

'84 Bonneville LED Dash :D

Since the previous owners of this vehicle, did not bother to fix the dash lights for reasons I probably won't ever know, I decided to install LED strips, I had no idea how simple and easy would it be either.

You can do this with any GM car, but this dash style I love because you can install it and ...

Pioneer Deck + Cerwin Vega combo.

Because the Bonneville I own has had installation, from another owner who had subwoofers going in it?

I decided to make some use of the wiring, and add some respectable bass for the vehicle.

My set up, is two vintage Cerwin Vega, 10 inch XLS models from the early 90's, along with a Pioneer deck ...

Meet a 1988 Chevrolet Caprice.

While I am happy my '84 Pontiac passed the safety certification, after months of doing electrical work, and welding.

The car is in storage for winter, the 305 I am going to rebuild.

And lucky for me, I found another vehicle that I was surprised to see here in Canada.

Numbers matching, 1988 ...

1984 Bonneville Resurrection!

So last year, some of you might recall of my nightmare of buying a 1984 Bonneville.

It was sold to me as having minimal rust, with no other problems according to the seller.

Well, I quickly found out that was not the case.

1. The gas gauge did not work. I was told it sometimes it "gets stuck ...

Re: Bonneville Radio Installation

I have attempted to install a 7012b stereo into my 2001 Bonneville SLE along with the METRA GMAC09 wiring harness and have followed the wiring diagram and soldered the right wires together yet the radio seems to always be drawing power. I have a brand new battery yet when I leave the radio plugged ...

Re: Need help finding 12V Ign wire

Not all GM cars of the 2000's have a switched 12V wire. Either the pink or green wire near the orange one from what I've read works.

Theres alternatives too.

You can wire it to wire a part to the fuse box, which HAS switched power.

You can run it to a constant 12V source with a simple switch for ...

Re: Mystery engine shutdown

Car is 2003 SSEi — It’s a random occurrence. Will be driving on the highway and it’ll ping (can hear it and use premium gas). Sometimes it will happen after hard acceleration, but I reiterate, happens random and not often. Thinking a faulty ignition module but no codes thrown. Wondering if the ECM ...

Re: 85 Bonneville A/C issues

If you are willing to try, use a multimeter and trace the wiring harness to find the short circuit.

Check the resistance, with your bypass, and then check it again with the switch that keeps blowing the fuse.

If its shorting, its likely an exposed or loose wire. Jiggle the wires gently, and look ...

Re: Running RCAs from hu to amp in trunk 2000 bonneville sse

If you want to do it right, run them near the floor.

Not sure how the 2000s Bonnevilles are, but in the 80s ones you unscrew the door sill plate, and run the cables along there.

Re: Best Head Unit Out There

Hi!

It really depends on your budget.

I suggest going with an Alpine unit, if you are willing to spend the extra money, and want control over your EQ, to get that heavy bass.

Otherwise, Pioneer is great if you are looking to save a bit of $$$.

Either way, I want to say the aftermarket stereos ...

Meet Bonnie! The 1984 Brown Bonneville.

Hi there from the Ontario countryside :)

If you haven't read my introduction, it might help give context on this interesting 1984 Pontiac Bonneville.

Sadly? I got ripped off buying her, she was rusty when it was advertised as not (have to get , and the seller later admitted the fuel sender unit ...

'84 Bonnie Nightmare.

Hey there everyone!

Thanks for taking to time to read my introduction. It's a bit long, because of the craziness involved in the purchase, so apologies :(

But my name is Chris. I am a disabled 26 year old here in Ontario, Canada who previously owned a 1983 Olds Delta 88.

I loved that car so much ...
