Who did it? USB replacing CD changer
I remember reading on here a while back that somebody replaced thier cd changer with a USB interface. They were able to plug in a Flash Drive and access it through the CD changer controls. I want to do this with my jeep. The changer in my jeep scratches all my CDs and my wife is jealous of my USB ...

ball joints and control arms
So im trying to replace the ball joints on my POS and Ive got the joint off the arm but the rivets are still stuck in the control arm. Ive drilled them out and everything but they wont come out. Anybody got any tips? Also does somebody have a schematic on how the control arm comes off? It seems that ...

Re: oil sending unit
Super simple fix and I really dont think brand will make much of a difference on this part. The sensor is above where the oil filter connects. A decent size crescent wrench should make short work of it.

Re: 2005 Bonneville SLE Spark plug
I had a very difficult time removing mine. I finally went down to Harbor Freight and bought some 11" needle nose pliers with a right angle bend at the tip. these worked very well to remove mine. I tried two of the boot pullers sold at the auto parts stores, but those tools bent and the plugs didnt ...

The guy at Car -x (yes Car-X) says to put new tires on the rear of a rWD car..
I would tel you to put matching tires on.. If you don't want to, I have Cooper CS4 Touring and love em.
That's what my mom had on her Chrysler, and I really liked them. And just for the record, Goodyear Integrity's ...

Same thing happened to me before. On the bright side, many insurers will not raise your rates as long as there was not a ticket and repairs are under $6-800. At least thats how American Family Ins. worked for me.

Re: Speaker Decision
Get a set of really nice components for the front. The back speakers are for fill, and any bass you can get out of them. If there is a good deal to be had on three ways for the back doors, go for it, but two ways would be fine too. Just use two ways in the back deck (all that sound is refected off ...

I second the Duplicolor engine paint. I used that on mine, and it looks great. Just make sure to let it dry VERY well before you put them back on the car.

Re: Rocker moulding
I've had several shops do the exact same thing. Nobody gives a crap about their customers in my area. The first couple times the moulding pushed back into place. The last time they smashed up the pinch seams under the car pretty badly. What really did in the passenger side was that I was driving up ...

They may have made it another color. That happens frequently. Some HU may not even have an illumination lead anymore. They often have a dimming control in the HU settings.

Re: help with audio system
I'm not sure I understand you. The "CDI" and the deck's harnesses will both have orange wires for the illumination of the faceplate which will need to be connected. They also will both have red wires for powering the rest of the deck that need connecting. I don't recall ever connecting an orange ...

If you haven't already seen it, here is my write-up on the HU install process. It really is a pain compared to most cars.

Re: help with audio system
Most amps have speaker level inputs. Just make sure you check specifically for that feature when you are buying.
You just tap into the factory rear speaker's wires and run them to the amp and to the speakers. Now I will say that this will give you a less than optimal signal, BUT for a sub the ...

Rocker moulding
The rocker moulding on my car has gotten all smashed and bent out of shape by all the careless mechanics that put it on lifts. How does the moulding attach? I have tried to push it back into place, but it wont budge. I need to realign it so it looks straight again.

Absolutley! What I suggested above is what I used to have in my car. I have since upgraded to an aftermarket deck for better sound quality, but my old system worked pretty well for what it was.

Re: help with audio system
simple. Buy an amplifier with high/speaker-level inputs. Run your power to the battery under the back seat. Run your ground either directly to the battery or a seatbelt bolt(remove any paint first). The remote wire is a little bit trickier. There is a fuse in the box under the back seat that is ...
