Re: Testing ignition coil
Get some dielectric grease and put a dab on each spark plug boot. It will keep out moisture and ease installation and removal. If your coil has that much corrosion on it, it may be time for new plug wires, and some new plugs.

I'd say ball joint as wheel bearings you would notice a wiggle in any direction you wiggle.

If no vacuum leaks check the pressure of your pump it may be becoming weak. I don't see that you changed the fuel filter perhaps it has gotten clogged up.

Re: First post: looking at a few 2000+ SSEIs, what to look f
If you want something that's going to be trouble free for a very long time. I'd tell you to stay away from the 2000+ Bonneville. How ever you may get lucky and find that one that needs just minimal work over a period of time. It will also depend on how and how much you use it whether it is trouble ...

Re: thermostat ..... 180 or 195 ?
I'd go with the 180 to keep everything a little cooler all the way around. I put a 180 in mine and the coolant tends to run around 195. Never checked what the 195 kept the coolant at but I imagine it was around 205-210. It won't hurt to keep everything cooler it may even last a bit longer.

Re: Will ABS failing cause a brake to stick sometimes?
I guess I'm wrong the ABS light is on but AbS is clearly working can feel and hear it working. Tryed it out after installing a new caliper and brake line for the one that was sticking. Not sure if the sticking issue has went away as I haven't drove it enough to find out. Took it down the road and ...

Re: Will ABS failing cause a brake to stick sometimes?
That's what I was thinking. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a way it could fail that would make it stick sometimes.

Will ABS failing cause a brake to stick sometimes?
I have been having my ABS light come on at random times after driving around. Sometimes it would be not at all. Then most recently the light has stayed on after starting the car its been this way for a bout a month. I don't typically care if the ABS light is on as I really like not having ABS, but ...

Re: Security--door locks
Check the batteries in fobs and the keyfobs. I had to fix the soldier joints on both of my keyfobs. The metal part that holds the battery that is. Had to fix both of my friends too on his G6 lot newer car but remote very similar. Same exact problem. The three points they are soildered at tend to ...

Re: Misfire . . . AGAIN!
Yeah, me neither just was stating facts. Its easy just do a search of K&N and MAF sensor problems and you will get tons of people complaining and proving that K&N's will in fact destroy a MAF or at least cause improper fueling due to continually dirtying the MAF sensor. What do you think oil on a ...

Re: Misfire . . . AGAIN!
I'd clean the Maf sensor first. K&N filters are notorious for getting it dirty, or oily causing it to read improperly. That is if you installed the K&N after you had already cleaned it.

Re: motor blew up! literally
I know faulty fuel pressure regulators are the main cause of this happening. But there must be other reasons to why this happens. Because the car I have has had this happen to it. It still has the original fuel pressure regulator and I vacume tested it to work perfectly fine. I even got down and ...

Re: Oil change advice!!!
More restrictive= better filtration which then equals longer engine life. In the event the poorly made filter fails it could be catastrophic. The only reason I stopped using them. Even though I can count over a million miles on various vehicles total and never had a issue. Internet media changed my ...

Re: clunk in the rear
I had the ball joints on the track bars or trailing arms go bad and were making noise going over bumps. Before putting replacements in I installed grease gun fittings so they can be lubed every other oil change.

Really wasn't a argument but a conversation on which trans fluid to use and what others used or recommended. But that list you posted says it all the list should be made into a sticky for newbies and others that are wondering.
