Best way to remove GXP Rockers and door cladding

I found a wrecked '05 GXP/SLE that I want to remove the door cladding and rocker molding.

Never having seen one with the parts already removed, I need to know the best way to remove them (and without BREAKING them).

Any pics or suggestions on HOW to get them off, special tools, issues to watch ...

Re: Do GXP tail lights delaminate?

I have a GXP center section I got out of a salvage yard that has a spot that's started to delaminate.

Re: DIC not fully working

It would probably help to know more about WHAT information you're talking about.

Are certain characters of the display no longer lit?, Does the "Average Gas Mileage" work while the "Instant Mileage" doesn't, etc

I found it, checked it, and found all's A-OK on that front as well.

Re: Consistanly lower than expected boost / '01 SSEi

That's what I was thinking but wanted to confirm.

Thanks.

No, I hadn't checked the fuel pressure as I hadn't seen any symptoms pointing me in that direction (hard starts, loss of top-end, etc.)

I can check it though...

Any idea what pressures I should be expecting (ignition on not running, at ...

Consistanly lower than expected boost / '01 SSEi

I've tried to do a number of searches to find answers to the following, but had no luck...

When I purchased my current Bonneville in November, I was normally seeing about 6.5-7 psi of boost according to the gauge (and closely mirroring what the ECM was seeing, checked through the scanner).

I've ...

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing

I agree with everything said with regard to amperage vs. voltage, however, regarding his "current" (sorry, had to say it) circumstances, the fact that the lights aren't dimming when he tries to crank should move the diag back towards the starter/starter circuit, not the battery, shouldn't it?

I ...

X2 for just the trans dipstick (for the '00-'05 anyway).

>>Get one from a Grand Prix for any of the years the headers are listed for.

BTW, the baffle on the fan motor is only an issue on the Grand Prix. There is plenty-o-clearance on the Bonneville.

Re: Headliner Color Need

It's been a while since I checked, but if you have a JoAnn Fabrics in your area (it's a nation-wide fabric/craft store), they carried automotive headliner material.

They had a grey that is a common GM color, but you would need to get a sample to be sure of how close it is to the grey used in our ...

Re: Moog tie rod question

Just installed a set of these myself and can CONFIRM what "maxi426 " said. If the castle nut tightens to a depth that the cotter pin isn't able to engage the cogs in the nut, that can be bad. The Washer is there to take up add'l space.

Re: A question about the "Torque-Pro" app.

Current gear is already available with the standard GM "add-on" group. They must have added it sometime after that video was made.

I'm trying to obtain the specific info to allow me to view "Commanded PWM TCC" directly from the ECM.

A question about the "Torque-Pro" app.

With regard to the “Torque Pro” app, does anyone know how to create a custom PID to view COMMANDED TCC (PWM)?

I’m trying to view what the ECM is commanding in relation to what's actually happening.

As of now, I can view everything from the transmission side of things (transmission input speed (in ...

Re: Lets see those exhaust tips

I just bought a pair of the Silverline tips. Since I have Bonny GXP exhaust available, I was able to compare the Silverlines to the factory tips.

They are nearly identical in every aspect, offset, taper, length, the flare where the tips expand, the double wall thickness...everything. I used the ...

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what he did as he didn't/wouldn't tell me. I will say that I provided him the shift tables with regard to upshift/downshift vs. throttle percentage.

Re: Trying to reach MadTuner...

I can tell you that when I was working with Madtuner on the tune for my '01 Aurora (4.0L), he told me flat-out that the "tune" made very little improvements in the way of ENGINE performance (the "stock" tune is probably not maxed out, but is very good to take advance of the power and performance ...

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing

It's been a while since I messed with a N*, but If I remember correctly, the aluminum casting of the block is visible BETWEEN the throttle body and the rubber intake coupler. The 3 bolts holding the throttle body go THROUGH the casting and thread into the metal backside of the coupler. You should be ...

"Can" tune question

I’ve heard a lot of very good things about Overkill Motorsports and their 3800 tune.

Based on these accounts and testimonials, I had decided to go with their tune as well.

UNTIL…

I have been trying for over 2 months to get even an initial response from them.

I e-mailed from my Roadrunner account ...

Re: MA822 VS KYB SR1002 Rear Shocks

Just to clarify, the KYB's are also a direct fit and install in place of the OEM shocks, including the air-line connection.

If you buy the complete set that includes the new top mount (KYB-SR4116), they install in about 10 minutes a side (as long as the stupid spring nuts don't break when you're ...

Re: MA822 VS KYB SR1002 Rear Shocks

There are really no pro's/con's of either. Both are good.

I've been told that KYB valves their shock 10-15% stiffer than stock.

The Monroe's are closer to an OE valving.

I installed the KYB's on my '01 and have been happy with them.

Thanks,
