my 96 is the only car i have had since 2001. bought it for $1,500 with 142k on it. engine wore out at 190k. did a l67 swap and the mods kept coming. i just cant stop, its like a sickness or something.

my '96 sounds like a tornado on high but has very weak air flow. my son also has a '96 and his medium blows harder than my high and with out all of the noise. the only difference between his and mine is his has the digital control. i would also love to know the cause of the problem.

ecm swaping
will an ecm from a 97 se work in a 96 se. i know engine and trans are the same,but thats about it. not shur of any other differences. the purpose of this is to get a zzp tune mainly because of the vs cam i installed

did some elecrical testing and ecm is cuting off the ground to solenoid "a" to shift into 2nd gear but it didnt shift. i ohmed both a and b solenoids and they were both 23ohms. 20-30 is good. i fed power to both and could hear both clicking. is it possible for a solenoid to be stuck shut or am i ...

changed tps and drove it, shifted somewhat ok out of 1st gear until it warmed up then went back to staying in 1st til it hit rev limiter. all other gears seem to shift up and down fine.

shifts good and hard (adjustable modulator valve), no slippage , has tcc code po1860. i dont have a scan tool at home, just a code reader

i have a 96 se and my trans doesnt shift out of first gear til about 45mph and 2nd about 60. i just rebuilt trans. baisically the ecm is only changing to the next gear to prevent the engine from over reving. before the rebuild it had a hard time shifting from 1st to 2nd under heavy acceleration and ...

the brand is called auto lift. i got it from bestbuyautoequipment.com for 1399 plus shipping. it is a 9k low clearance lift and looks like it is very well built for the price. i would have loved to have had a bend pak, they are the best, but didnt have the money for one of those.

sounds like it could be a starter or power supply issue or a pully on the drive belt could be locked up. just a couple of possabilities

you really dont want the problems of a northstar either. i had considered it for my car and decided against it. l67 100 times better motor. northstar pos. in my opinion

the bushings from the junk yard were off subframes that were just laying around ,so they were easy to get. the bolts on my car i took out, i didnt need to cut them although they were almost rusted in half. cuting them would have made more work since the nut is inside the body

i had the same problem a few year ago with my oe engine. mine spun a rod bearing and i didnt have the money to replace the engine so i replaced all the rod bearings and ran it with valvoline 50wt oil and limped on it till i had the money for an l67

i had same problem with mine. i went to a junk yard and got some off a cadillac sub frame and they fit fine. i believe they are all about the same .i replaced all 4 rears and only costed me about $20.

i have already put one of the oem coils back on because one accel coil failed after only one month. i dont have a scanner yet but i use a friends otc genisys when ever i need it. i scanned it about a month ago, thats why i went with a fwi. my air intake temp was about 25* hotter than the out side ...
