What is your current main car?

Post by Saturn Simon »

Thought it would be interesting to take stock and see what everyone on here is driving these days as their main car/daily driver. I was wondering what proportion of us still used Bonnevilles as our main cars versus those of us that drove different vehicles...

...So I created this poll. :)

Both the '03 SSEi and the '02 SE see daily driver duty, about 30 - 35 miles a day each. The truck and Cutlass basically just sit, Cutlass because plates and insurance were transferred to the '02 SLE project to sell it and the truck because it is just pointless to drive it when I don't need to.

It's looking like shortly the SSEi will be my DD and the G8 will go rest for winter. It's seen snow once, that's enough for my nerves!

Penny will probably see daily duty till her death. Although I'd love to put her away and restore her one day too. I've never seen another 2000+ that was never ever garaged through 10 Chicago winters and has NO rust.

Been driving the truck lately until I can get some tires on the front of the GXP, and once I do that the GXP will get driven until the snow flies then it's truck time again lol

I drive my GXP when I want to, the truck when I need to, and ride my FJ1200 whenever the feeling hits me.
The truck will be my full time winter ride, but the GXP will be used until the roads are a mess, then it's done for the season, as it's NEVER seen snow and I plan on keeping it that way.

G8 is the year round DD, Civic Wagon is strictly summer.

I am thinking of getting a winter beater this year though.

I know. From when I drove it home Monday, till today, Friday was the only day I didn't drive to the cities (140-ish mile round trip)... Put 3 tanks of fuel into it...

I drive the fiero every day, and the wife drives the Bonneville. The truck only sees use when the bonne or fiero is out of commission or if I need a truck for something.

Our main DD is the '03 Grand Cherokee, but my wife drives it all the time. I usually drive the '04 Mustang as my DD, unless the weather is icky, then I have the '96 Explorer as my winter beater/backup vehicle. That'll change next spring when I replace it with a new truck. I'd like to go back to a Bonneville as a backup car, but my needs seem to often call for a 4x4 or truck.

I didn't buy the car for it to sit all winter or for nice days only. Hell, if I had an old restored car, I'll still drive it everyday. It's my car and I want to drive it
