Re: 65E Transmission problems.

I went online to google and found a transmission shop literally two miles down the road from me downtown. lol. Didn't know they were there. I shot them an email about the symptoms and asked if they are familiar with the 65E. Hopefully They get back to me today!

Re: 65E Transmission problems.

Yup, sold the CTS and am kicking myself for it now.. It had 87K and only got 13K for it! Still owe $5,999 on the Aurora and it needs a LOT of work. (3 bad wheel bearings, bad ISS, transmission problem, etc.) I have put in Lucas Transmission fix but it had no effect. I forgot to mention that!

65E Transmission problems.

Hey guys, been a while since I've logged on, just been crazy busy with things which in a way brings me back here. I purchased a 2002 Aurora 3.5 V6 with the same 65E transmission the Bonneville uses in May 2008. A few months later, the transmission started to have a very lazy shift when cold. Just ...

people need to SLOW DOWN.

Jeeze. Last night the highways were absolutely horrible and peopel were still flying by me at 75+. I was doing 55 MPH. I had a mid 90's Ford Explorer in front of me for several miles that was doing around 55 MPH, so I just stayed behind them. Seemed to be a very comfortable speed I thought. Right ...

It's winter time...

It's that time of year...

when the Cts really turns into the "Blackillac" and gets the police-car treatment. haha.
All my friends say it looks really mean with the steal wheels on there. They're just so beefy. Don't shoot me, but I kind of like the look too. haha.

this makes the OCD in me scream. The interior on my car is s potless. The smell alone of trash in my car would drive me nuts. AHH!

Re: Finally worked on a newer 3800... and I'm really spoiled

A little off topic, but 4X,000 miles seems WAY too early to be changing out the spark plugs IMO. My mom's SSEi had over 93K on it when it was totaled with the originals and it ran fine.

Re: The Bonneville Replacement

The Aura is the most expensive and luxurious, followed by the Malibu, then the G6. They're all basically the same car though. The G6 is definitely a lot sportier driving, but the interior is horribly cheap in comparison to the Malibu and Aura.

Re: The Bonneville Replacement

The seats are a softer leather, like what my CTS has. The door panels look nice, but are still a harder plastic. The black parts are all rubberized to feel softer. (reminds me of the material german car manufacturers use.)

Reminds me of my first car, an 88 LeSabre. It was a VERY reliable car. I still miss it at times. haha.

The insurance company towed it away from the wrecker on Friday. I presume that they will take it from auction and sell it there. Either way, the Bonneville is gone ...

The Bonneville Replacement

Here is the new car that my mom picked up yesterday. it's a 2008 Saturn Aura XE. It has the 3.5 V6 rated at 225 horsepower. The car is VERY nice for the price. She paid only $13,999 for it with 37,000 miles, and a 5 year,100,000 mile GMPP extended warranty. It is basically loaded with all options ...

Re: Some bad news..(now with pictures)

She heard from the insurance company today -- Totaled. They're sending her a check for $7200. They said she could buy it back for $2,500. That isn't going to happen. We're going to see if we can get the wheels off of it/floor mats. Hopefully we can! She is looking at either a 2008 G6 or a 2008 ...

Re: Some bad news..(now with pictures)

Here is the least expensive estimate from the body shop at $6,515. The retail value of the car is $7,700 according to NADA and KBB. So, the repair cost is 84% the value of the car. I think it will be totaled.

Re: Some bad news..(now with pictures)

an update. Body shop # 2 quoted even higher than the first place for repair. I said he found additional items that need to be repaired. I don't have any of the estimates with me, as my mom has them all, but she said she needs to go car shopping with me this weekend. She didn't mention if her ...

Some bad news..(now with pictures)

I received a phone call from my mother at 6 AM this morning extremely upset. i knew that something wasn't right because she never calls me earlier in the day, especially THIS early. She was on her way to her first job passing between two corn fields when a large buck ran directly in front of her ...

Just for the record, if anyone wants chrome interior handles, the Aurora has the exact same door handles, only they're chrome not plastic.
