Stupid Question; What happened to the deer? I just showed my dad the pics, and he said he wanted to see the deer that did all that damage.
Bye Bye:

Here is the least expensive estimate from the body shop at $6,515. The retail value of the car is $7,700 according to NADA and KBB. So, the repair cost is 84% the value of the car. I think it will be totaled.

When she gets her check... Sell her the CTS, she gets a car, you can get into what you want, and you've solved two problems? Just a thought..
Although if the value has gone as much as you say it has, I would just keep it at this point.

Re: Some bad news..(now with pictures)
The damage doesn't look so horrible. I have seen worse things in the dealer body shop here in town and see it driving on the road. One of my co-workers had a similar situation with a car. It was a dodge. The damage was 5700 and the book value was 7200. The frame was still intact and the radiator support was still god from the pictures she brought in. They actually gave her a choice since it was so close they would cover the car if she wanted it fixed or they would total it and give her the money. She chose to have it fixed and after about 3 weeks it was back. Looked great you would never had known anything had happened. Unfortunately, she fell in love with her rental which was an HHR and she traded it in on a brand new HHR.

She heard from the insurance company today -- Totaled. They're sending her a check for $7200. They said she could buy it back for $2,500. That isn't going to happen. We're going to see if we can get the wheels off of it/floor mats. Hopefully we can! She is looking at either a 2008 G6 or a 2008 Malibu right now. She fell in love with her Rental G6 GT. haha.
