ive changed the build up alittle.
we ripped out the old wall which was around 15 cubes, and built a shell that is around 28 cubes!
im using the old ...

Soundigital amps are pretty sick.
i ran the SD 8000.1 for awhile.

dont use the blue remote wire off a headunit,
use the red ignition wire on the headunit instead

get a O-scope, see where head unit starts to clip, set gains on amp accordingly.
and the smell you are getting is from clipping.
dirty power.
you can get close to setting an amps gain properly with a DMM.

My highest score in SPL in MECA is 155.2 @ 31 hz.
hopefully next week ill be able to get closer to a 156 @31hz since i sealed the sunroof and almost completely eliminated the flex of the port.
im only .4 dbs off the highest score this season for my class: Modified 4.!

i gotta couple new vids up and a couple vids uploaded by people at comps and small shows.
i compete in MECA now as well.
and the bass doesnt drown out, i recently fiberglassed my doors, they now hold 3 Focal 6.5, 1 ID CTX 5.25 and a 2 in tweet on each door.

Disconnect that little amp. It'll interfere with the output coming from the headunit, the speakers will cit on and off, if you leave it connected.
