Re: Coolant leak where upper hose meets engine block
But I've been retightening it, and it always seems to loosen up by 1 or 2 of those slot thingys. I think I'm going to get some of the clamps and see if they work, may have to eat some Gamma Rays and Hulk out to get them on.

Coolant leak where upper hose meets engine block
So my upper radiator hose failed catastrophically one day. I fixed it and put a new hose on and the new hose is secured with worm screws. Unfortunately, these worms screws always seem to come slightly undone, and coolant will leak out of them onto the exhaust manifold. What do you all recommend I ...

Where to find an oil dipstick
Hello Everyone,
My 1994 SE Bonneville needs a new oil dipstick as the head has broken off of the original one. Does anyone know where I can find one? I've tried looking online, but no luck.

Re: 1994 SE - Door will lock, but not unlock
Sorry to practice necromancy on this thread, but I think folks deserve an update. Long story short, EVERYTHING on my drivers side door began to fail. Once I got up enough courage, I took off the interior and figured out how to change the lock. One issue was for me to make sure I got the right lock ...

The answer is that you need to Google search for "lock cylinder".

Re: 1997 replaced exterior door handle now I've got problems
I'm probably the least qualified person on the entire forum to answer this question. But whenever there is voodoo going on in the electrical system, they generally attribute it to a bad ground which is under the carpet near the running board on the drivers side.

1994 SE - Door will lock, but not unlock
Hello Everyone,
Long story short, my Bonneville door key will lock the door, but it won't unlock it. When I try to unlock it, its almost as if some of the pins aren't quite being pushed up. It will allow me to turn it a little bit, but not all the way as if its bound up by something. I can unlock ...

How to remove power window switch from base (1994 SE)
TL;DR How do I remove the base of the power switch assembly from the wiring connector.
So my power windows have been acting up for some time now. When I push on the "up" button, it would start and stop in fits, and I would have to help the window up. For the other windows, I would have to reach ...

Re: Unintended Acceleration
I had a similar issue where the engine was always under power. I got a fuel system clean at a Valvoline place and it went away. That may have not exactly been the correct solution, but I haven't had it happen again.

Re: Do I absolutely have to remove this motor mount?
Just to keep everyone updated, I chickened out and forked over the $199 to have it done. The way that motor mount-motor mounting looks like it's connected to the block just had me wigged out. Not to mention, it's my only car, so if I can't do something over a weekend, I'm screwed. Thanks for yalls ...

Re: Do I absolutely have to remove this motor mount?
So this means I follow the support with wood on a jack while removing, keep supported until new water pump is in? I'm more scared I'm going to botch something, and then either have a more expensive repair, or toast something that is too expensive to replace.

How to install wheel nut covers.
Hello everyone,
So I finally got my replacement hubcap. It came with those original style, super tough wheel nut covers. I was wondering if anyone had a secret as how to install them. I generally pop the hubcap in, and then try to screw them in. But this feels wrong because it is EXTREMELY ...

Mechanic topped off Radiator
Hello Everyone,
So yesterday, my car had a problem with overheating. I assumed it was a failing water pump or leakage coming from a bypass hose. After taking it to the mechanic, he told me everything was fine, but that the level was low meaning it didn't reach the sensor to turn on the fans ...

Re: bad multi-function switch in steering column?
I'm not a pro, but I have had similar issues with my headlights (94 Bonneville). The mechanic said that it was something in my steering column that wasn't making connection. He also said that there are a billion little parts inside of a steering column so it's cheaper to just get a new one as it's ...

Car overheats(but doesn't redline)
Hello Everyone,
So on my way back from work today, I noticed that my car was overheating. It didn't hit the red spot, but the needle did hit that area between where it usually sits and the warning area. So I stopped my car, checked the coolant reservoir which was dry. That's relatively normal for ...

94' SSE: Security light comes on during driving
Hello Everyone,
I have a 1994 Bonneville SSE with 326K on it. Over the past few days my SECURITY light has been coming on only while I am driving. During my drive, like today, the light will sometimes go off. I have noticed that when I put my key in, it won't crank on the first try (lights, radio ...

Re: Auto-acceleration
As a computer programmer, I hate when people find the solution and don't post the answer in the forums. Anyway, I got the fuel line treatment cleaner while at the oil change place. Once that happened, it never auto-accelerated again. I assume that something was getting stuck with debris or dirt ...
