It's been a white
The fuse Fuse 9C - (Battery), Radio, Cluster keeps blowing. It just happened today.
I did replace the fuel pump (works great), but the fuse is now not working.
No radio, gauges, the electronic climate control, speedometer, tach, boost gauge are all not working.
Any ideas ...

Re: Thermostat Question
I run a drilled, 160°F thermostat on my 97 Ei. I live in Texas and with the heat outside 100+, the engine only get's to 175°-180°F The only difference I notice is the pick-up-and-go seems a little better. I gave up on MPG's for the most part - I drive 55 tops whenever I can.

It could be; does it do this every time you start the car? Even when the engine is warm?

Exhaust Sizes
I nee to know the size of the pipe going into the muffler (97 Ei) and the size coming out. I will be doing a lot of work on it this weekend. And how much pipe of the two sizes should I buy?
And how long is the resonator? That is going bye-bye!

When it's going to get colder than crap up here in AK.
With that being said, I have heard the 3800 is more efficent at hotter temps than cooler. Since I can't do anything about the external temp, can I drop in a 205-215°F thermostat? I only get ~15mpg in winter and ~20-22 in the summer.

Re: tranny flush
7.4 liter = 7.81 fluid quarts. If this is for your 97 EI, you have the 4T65-E HD. It's not a deep pan, but dont worry about that. When the trans is at it's proper fluild level, it's way above the pan, lol. Thats why there are 20 bolts.

but I will say that the fluid that came out of the pan was a very dark red but what came out of the torque converter was black as tar.

Re: tranny flush
The fluid and filter will cost you no more that $40. That does not include the beer, lol.
Do it yourself. It will be messy, but you will learn a lot. Your gas mileage and performance will go up.
A complete flush does not change the filter. Think of it like changing the oil, but leaving on the same ...

Pull fuse 1D - 15 Amp Chime fuse
Somehow it is connected to the TC system. It fully disables it. The TC light on the shifter will still be lit, but the button will not function.
ABS is still in full effect
Happy Roasting
