Transmission Mount Options
Long story short, the motor rocks towards the firewall and the front mount on the drivers side lifts alot. Is there an alternative mount available (solid, or polyurethane) that will take place of a stock replacement?

Re: Coolant Temp **How hot does your SSEi get**
Interesting. Were the gaskets obviously failed? That is honestly a rare occurrence unless you have a turbo and pretty big boost.
The gaskets did'nt "obviously" fail, however the heads were milled .006" So the heads were not completely flat. I understand head gaskets dont go under low boost, but ...

Re: Engine Deck Height Tolerance
Well thats my problem. Im trying to decide if I want to have the deck machined, or a crate motor from junk yard. This is my DD and its nothing but a headache at this point. I think its time to get rid of it.....The deck looks like its "warped" alittle. Thats why im asking what the height should be ...

Engine Deck Height Tolerance
Does anyone know what the deck height should be for my 2002 SSEi? Also what is the max tolerance that is allowed before the deck height needs machined?

Re: Coolant Temp **How hot does your SSEi get**
Head gasket? No. Lower Intake Manifold gasket failures? Yes. Usually caused when the Extended life coolant gets contaminated <very easy BTW> and starts eating away the gasket. Usually when they fail, they like to dump coolant in the oil. There is plenty of write ups that can guide you through the ...

Re: Coolant Temp **How hot does your SSEi get**
Well did a leak down test on the car, not good. The center front cylinder (not sure on cylinder numbers on these motors) spark plug electrode is white in color. Also was low on antifreeze. Are these engines known for head gasket problems? Cuz thats what it appears to be at this point. Fans come on ...

Coolant Temp **How hot does your SSEi get**
Mine hit 270* sitting in traffic today. It scared the SH*T out of me. I went down a side street to get the car moving. I have a 180* thermostat in it. But im not sure whats going on here. Now I came to a sudden stop after giving it a pretty hard full boost blast. But should it get that high? Once ...

Re: 2002 SSEi Mods
ok 180* it is. I live in PA and we can have some brutal hot summers, but winter can also be a b*tch as well. As far as the pulley goes, its really nothing personal. I can just get the pulley cheaper from zzp.

Re: 2002 SSEi Mods
OK so im going to get a zzp 3.5 pulley, fwi, 160* thermostat, and tune. Do you all think I should keep the stock heat range plugs (TR55's) or go colder (TR6)?

Re: blew out my Pacesetter gasket again
Didn't realize it was a collector gasket (was at work and wasn't able to see pics) but yes the remflex gaskets are the best ive found thus far. Ive never used flowtech, but have used Percy's crush aluminum gaskets which are the same IMO and they have failed. Ive used, Mr Gasket, Summit brand ...

Re: blew out my Pacesetter gasket again
Been there, done that. The best gasket ive used to date is Remflex. Im not sure if they make them for a 3800 series engine, but it might be worth the time to look into. PM and ill give you a supplier to call. They use these gaskets on 1000 hp+ turbo and supercharger cars without silicon etc. And ...

First off, you can see that conventional was a note after the Oil & Filter part, stating the interval, and which conventional oils we recommended. I use Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 in my car (full synthetic) and I love it. 165k and running strong.
