I just put a 2005 Bonneville 3800 non-supercharged short block w/81k miles in my 04 GTP Comp G.
I have yet to tune it for the 'bottom swap' but it's running great (aside from the need for a tune which is preventing me from getting on the throttle more than 10%).
Once I get the tune I would fully ...

Re: Speed Daddy Headers!
DON'T use FelPro exhaust manifold gaskets -they are paper and will blow out in a very short time.
Reuse the factory multi-layer steel exhaust manifold gaskets and you will have less problems. If you insist on getting new spend the extra $ and get new ones from GM.

Nice numbers Randy!
Torque usually doesn't jump as much as HP with a cam from what I've seen.

Re: Gen V Swap
Best way to prevent coolant getting into the bottom of the engine when you remove the LIM is:
1. Remove the knock sensor from the front of the block (white single wire connection located between the AC compressor and the starter) -you may have to stick a screwdriver through the sludge that may ...

Re: car gets squirrely over bumps.
There are a couple reasons why the 00+ rear shocks are nice compared to the 99-older rear struts:
1. 00+ Rear shocks can be bought new online with shipping included for under $100.
2. 00+ Rear shocks are a piece of cake to change -even an amateur can change them in under an hour and no special ...

Re: car gets squirrely over bumps.
If you are referring to your 2000 SSEi -get new rear shocks.
2000+ Bonneville/Lesabre/Park Avenue's need new rear shocks every 70-80k miles, or so it seems.

I would highly recommend a universal fit Magnaflow from eBay or http://www.jmfmufflers.com/
I would recommend a 94106 universal 2.5" cat.
It's what I had in my old 98 SSE and my first 99 SSEi and did very well.

I found this site and these are the best prices I've found for some tires... even after shipping most tires I priced were cheaper after shipping was figured in than buying locally.

75mm vs 65-67mm inlet
outlets
These two differences make up a big part in the superior efficiency of the Gen V over Gen III.
Even a fully ported Gen III doesn't match the capabilities of a stock Gen V.

Let's go back to square one here...
You say it is surging under light-moderate load?
What are the problems that are happening with the transmission?

L67 injector o-rings should be the same size on both sides -they didn't change injectors on SII L67's at any point 1996-2005.

That is a sharp car -love the color and with that low of miles it really is a gem no doubt.
Just to help rule out the cause for the KR -are you running 91+ octane fuel?
Also, if they aren't shot already maybe it is time to do a coolant flush at least, or if you are willing update the Lower Intake ...

IIRC 94/95 L67 still just had one knock sensor.
Correct -the knock sensor is in an oil passage directly above the oil filter adapter/oil pressure sending unit.
Dropped a 94 Park Ultra L67 in and just have to put the belts on, the new exhaust flange donut and should have it running within the ...

Re: Ported LIM, Gen V, or not at all
I have several L67 lower intake manifolds here in central MN along with a good machine shop that offers small town pricing (labor-wise) that would allow you to save at least $100 and not have to hassle with paying a core charge up front.

92/93 L67 swap into 94/95 L67 car
I have a customer wanting an engine for a 95 L67 car and I have a line on a couple 92/93 L67.
I know I will have to swap the supercharger/TB off the 95, but are there any other reasons I can't use the 92/93 engine?
What else would have to be swapped to work in the 95?
In my research I read ...
