Re: blue devil
Sorry...its been a while since updating post, but I did finally add the Blue Devil "oil stop leak" (not the specific rear main formula) to the crankcase and the stuff seems legit!. After approx. 100 mi. of driving so far, the typical oil burning smell when hot, and the drops on the garage floor have ...

Plastic engine cover
I've noticed a lot of image posts on this site of various engine bays with the engine cover removed. Is this removal in some way an advantage of some sort (better engine cooling, etc..) or just a purely aesthetic thing?...just curious.
Thanks!.
Thanks!.

Re: blue devil
Well, I guess it's up to me to take the plunge. I was hoping the "high mileage" Mobil 1 would help somewhat, but to be honest I've only been running it for about 1k miles so far. Maybe I'll just monitor the leak for the duration (at least another 3 to 4k miles), and then add it the next oil change ...

Re: blue devil
Yea, thanks guys...it was getting kind of lonely out here!. Just got through reading email response from blue devil 'tech', and he recommended using their "all in one"/ multiple symptom oil leak sealer if I wasn't positive it was the crank seal that was leaking. V/C gaskets are good and O/P gasket ...

Hello...anyone have any experience with using the Blue Devil engine oil stop leak products?. My '04 SE seems to have a pesky slow leak on the garage floor eventhough my oil pan gasket and rod bearings were recently replaced. It seems now that the rear main seal may be the culprit. I've seen that ...

Re: Budget mode performance??
Thanks guys for all of the feedback!...if I do eventually get the cash and decent parts for the top swap setup, is anyone familiar with a decent shop located in the ~So. Cal area that would have experience with swap project. In my experience it's pretty unbelievable in car crazy So. Cal. area to ...

Budget mode performance??
Working with my 2004 SE L36 with 115k mi. Is there anything I could do without breaking the bank that would give me a little more performance out of the stock motor?. L67/and or "top swap" at this time are financially out of range. I guess I'm attempting to turn lemons into lemonade without having ...

obd2 port
Can anyone tell me the location of the obd2 port on my '04 bonneville SE...was going to purchase the bafx reader for the torque pro app on Amazon due to its reviews, but it looked a little too big (as if it would stick out from under the dash). But short of standing on my head so far, I can't find ...

I'm looking online and I'm finding "tamper proof" bits, I'm assuming that's the same as the "security" bit I'll need?. Because I would really like to buy a set to add to my tool collection.

L36 maf sensor removal
Hello....I'm attempting to remove my maf sensor on my '04 se L36 to clean it after replacing the filthy ac delco air filter with an aem dryflow. Would anyone happen to know what size/type of torx bit that is needed to remove the sensor?. I've heard it's refered to as a "security torx" head on the ...

Re: zzp l36 supercharger kit
Thanks for the info...i didn't even consider a factory top swap from an L67 motor. I'm assuming it would be just as easy labor wise, but i'm assuming hard to find parts considering every L36 owner would have the same idea. If i were able to find the top end, then all i would have to do is have my ...

zzp l36 supercharger kit
Saw this kit on ZZP's website recently. In their descripton of a 'bolt-on' supercharger kit, installation seemed as easy as you and a buddy sparing 4 to 6 hours out of your weekend. Could this be accurate?, and if so (when I come up with the $1,800), could my '04 stock L36 SE internals and trans ...

Re: se strut bar
Thanks....FE2 I'm assuming is from an SSEi?, is there any specific model years that i would have to look for, and will there be 'points' at the rear to mount the bar?. I've also come accross many "upgraded" neoprene front and rear link kits on the net that claim to be direct replacement fit, but ...

Re: Engine knock/rattle noise
Just an idea....I had the same symptoms that you are describing, after the engine had warmed up, especially in park or neutral, there was an inconsistant clatter/knockng type noise that would dissapear when I blipped the throttle, or when accelerating, noise was never present when cold. My problem ...

se strut bar
Is there any kind of aftermarket strut anti-sway bar available for the 2004 SE?. I've been searching forever, closest I've found is an inexpensive gm strut bar, but it was for a W body. I'm trying to tighten up my suspension as much as possible...neoprene swaybar link kits, kyb struts, etc. Would a ...

I'll probably go with the kyb's with the moog mounts.
