Re: Engine Mount Question With Pic!
I just replaced my mount earlier this week. $40 + tax for the mount. Can't see going thru the PITA the hockey pucks entail for $40. The bottom bolt spun free because the mount was so bad. If that wasn't the case it's a 30-45 minute job.

Re: How to: 2000+ radio light fix tutorial (45pics)
Andrew, as stated multiple times in this thread, thank you. Being old and ham-fisted, I only replaced the display bulbs with 272-1092s. I had a heck of a time seeing and spent and hour clearing the holes after pulling the old bulbs which lead me to stop after the three display lamps. This leads to ...

Re: How to erase codes
Turn the key to run, past accessory, but don't engage the starter. In the underhood fuse box, remove the PCM BAT (#8) & PCM IGN (#19) fuses. Let the car sit for ~5 minutes. Turn the key off. reinsert the fuses. The codes will be cleared.

Re: Transmission needs rebuild, need advice
I went with a Jasper when mine quit. 3 year 100 K warranty. 2300 out the door if I remember correctly. Something you might want to consider if you plan on keeping it awhile.

Re: Street PCM tune
I purchased a PCM from Intense when I bought the Bonne. Slight increase in MPGs, and noticeably better throttle response. An intake would be a nice pairing with a tuned PCM.

Service Airbag Light On...
The car sat for a few weeks. Since I began running it again, the service airbag light is now on as well as the fact the radio display completely quit. The radio display has been a issue for quite awhile, I just need to decide whether I want to mess with it or ship it off to Andrew. The airbag light ...

You need the XM module to wire it as described.

Re: Will it be worth it?
I did it. Definitely better throttle response and a small bump in gas mileage (maybe a 10 % increase). No regrets here.

Re: So Do You Think 4 Golf Bags & 4 Duffels Will Fit???
Four golf bags, four duffels, four pair of golf shoes, a rain jacket and two pillows in the trunk. Four guys in the car. 28 MPG average over 1250 miles. Plus several "nice car" comments. Why did they quit making these again???

Re: So Do You Think 4 Golf Bags & 4 Duffels Will Fit???
I've taken multiple trips with my wife and two kids in this car and gotten 30 MPG. Gas mileage won't be the issue. Even loaded with four of us I know it will get better than my diesel. Four golf bags fit behind the rear wheels. Cramming four small duffels will be the issue.

So Do You Think 4 Golf Bags & 4 Duffels Will Fit???
Heading to Myrtle Beach later this month for a few days with some buddies for a little golf trip. The Pontiac is the roomiest vehicle (other than pick ups) between us. Has anyone ever tried to fit 4 golf bags and four duffels in the trunk? I like the gas mileage of the Bonne alot better than my crew ...

Re: Do I Cut and Run
It's nice to say it's the rebuilder's problem, but if he doesn't step up, you're screwed. Your recourses are either civil litigation, or exteme measures that could have long-lasting repercussions. You've owned the car for 10+ years, and bought it used. It's turning into a money pit. Cut bait. It's a ...

You're not stupid, and it is front-wheel drive. It's not a transverse mount, it's longitudinal.94SilverSSEi wrote:Am I stupid or is the engine facing the wrong way? I thought those were front wheel drive?

Re: My Daughter's Passat
I'd buy a TDI to replace my Bonne if I ran across the right deal. I'm starting to get into this VeeDub thing. It's a really well-built car. From the switches to the door seals, it oozes quality. If the relability is there, I'm sold.

My Daughter's Passat
We had a 60+ degree day today, so I sprayed off my daughter's car we bought for her. Her 16th birthday is coming soon, and I ran across a nice deal on the car she wanted. The fact that a friend of mine bought it new sealed the deal. I really like it. Been driving it the past week to discover/sort ...

Re: 2006 Silverado 3500
Nice truck, looks to be in great shape. I had a 2500 with the 6.0 prior to my Duramax and it was a good truck. I'll second the prep issue on the spray-in bedliner. I've got a Line-X liner in mine, and it's fantastic. I haul wood, gravel, auto parts, etc. in it all the time with no issues whatsoever ...

Re: Seafoaming
Just insert a smaller diameter piece of vacuum tubing into the booster line and seal it with some tape. I don't 'pour' the Seafoam into the vac line, I actually let the vacuum draw it in in quick dips into the Seafoam. After half a can, I let the line drown in it, which kills the engine. Let the car ...

Re: Keeping the Bonne, Bought my Daughter a Passat
Sounds like a good plan!!! With that commute, you gotta have more miles than my 106,500 on my 05 SLE!
Right about the same. Bought it with 4 years ago now that I think about it with 37K. It's at 103K now, but still rides and runs great. Dropping $2500 for the tranny sucked, but it was money well ...
