Pretty much the same interior as my truck. I would like to suggest an accessory for more storage inside. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Go-Gear-Full- ... r/16782557 I have one of these and it fits perfectly on the center seat and holds everything from pens to my gloves.

Would that be considered a mod?

It's the same interior as my truck too. The only difference is that I have cloth seats, but still a rubber floor.

That center console is a must! I bought one within a day of owning my truck. I wasn't so much after the storage, but needed an arm rest. I still don't understand why GM didn't make that portion of the seat flip down (even on the work trucks). (I know, I know it's a cost savings for them...)

Been looking and trying to come up with something to modify it to fold. A used folding seat on ebay is $250 and up.

I'm taking Bonnie to Texas tomorrow to visit my grandparents. McAllen, Tx to be specific....10 miles from Mexico. They want me to either take the truck or their Rainier because they don't trust my 170k mi Bonneville. Them of little faith. Wish me luck!

Nice truck, looks to be in great shape. I had a 2500 with the 6.0 prior to my Duramax and it was a good truck. I'll second the prep issue on the spray-in bedliner. I've got a Line-X liner in mine, and it's fantastic. I haul wood, gravel, auto parts, etc. in it all the time with no issues whatsoever. It was sprayed in the first week, and it killed me to see the guy scuffing up the bed. But it served to give a good adhesive surface, and nothing has ever chipped or flaked at all. No rust issues at all. Power spray it off, and it looks like new.

I've been working on a craigslist ad for the '77, and just had to laugh and shake my head at all the stuff i've replaced in the five years i've owned it. All this stuff was tax deductible so i don't mind the money i dumped on it, but wow...

And the truck ran great when i got it! I actually "inherited" it from a neighbor. The guy told his wife before he died to give it to my family. So it gave me a fun five years and a good education anyway.

To be honest, the distributor parts, plugs, and wires were due to mis-diagnosis on my part. (real culprit being the choke pull-off)

Another thing to think about is doing a roll on bed liner kit.

I was planning on that until yesterday...I even pulled out the plastic bedliner as you can see. But when i was ordering accessories from the local shop, the guy there was very knowledgeable and told me this: He's been approached by every spray/roll on liner company to become an installer, but he refuses because he says they all trap moisture next to the steel as they cure, making the bed start rusting from the inside out. He said he peeled the liner off of a one year old wrecked truck, and it was already rusty.

Anyone else hear of anything like that?

Spray-on like Rhino. Only way to go.

Starting to look like a farm truck. First order of buisiness was to crank up the front end 2.5 inches. I bought shock extensions and they didn't fit, so it's a bit rough riding at the moment. Also installed the bed rails, toolbox, stainless nerf bars, and bug shield. John Deere stopped making rubber mudflaps, and autozone's didn't fit.







Poor, homeless Bonneville.

Get a set of grain truck or semi mudflaps and cut them in half for each corner, then make a little metal bracket to attach them to the frame. Works perfect. Then if you want you can decorate them with some diamond-plate or something. Just did that on my buddy's '90 K1500, they look awesome. He got a sheet of diamond plate from the local metal place for like $2, and it worked perfect.

Interesting. Back when push-button 4x4 systems came out in the mid-90's, I specified the old floor mount shifter, specifically because of the first round of issues they had with engagements and the position sensors (what not). But by like 1997/1998 most of the bugs were worked out and unless you bought a complete stripper 4WD truck with rubber floor and vinyl seats, your only option was push-button.

IIRC all of our 98+ trucks have been push-button, including my 98 Tahoe, 01 & 02 Suburbans, 03 & 05 pickups. I don't mind it, less bending over, lol.
