I'm sorry Matt. That sucks!

Maybe this is why the PO sold it?

The car is a 1993. When I bought my 93 back in 03 I spent tons on it. Almost everything under the hood and steering/suspension turned out new over time.
A Starter isn't a big deal really, theyre designed to fail at some point in time, just like everything else.

Sadly, it happens. When I got my car it was 3 years old. I had to do a ton of work on it. It was abused when it was 'younger.' But, it was a rental for the first year of it's life.

You're making me feel really strange about my seemingly reliable 93. :???:

Starter isn't that big of a deal...they fail...that's not out of the ordinary.

Did you smack it around a few times?

Go back to wendy's and hit it with a hammer, sometimes that helps, if you get one more start out of it, you can at least get it home.

Keep in mind that the car is 15 or 16 years old. Stuff breaks when it gets used on a daily basis for that long.

I agree there... GB I have not given up on the van yet... I have been through H*** and back with it trying to get it to run right... And I have had the Trans out 2 times already... This is all the garbage I had to take off to get the Trans out...
Image
Notice how much is missing.... And I had to do this twice... I have already been in the motor twice for pissy lifters.. Had a Fuel pump die( in the driveway thank god )... Had the AC Compressor piss oil from the front seal... Hold in the condenser... A leaking Evaporator both oil, and water to the inside... I have nightmares about this van... But its 13 years old, has almost 175,000 miles on it ... and I am getting it little by little and starting to enjoy it being so practical and useable... I was ready to set it on fire a few times tho, so I do understand...

I hope you mean the starter!! :eek2:

That poor car is 16 years old. It is allowed to have a bad day or six. Just part of it. Even my 01 needs some TLC everytime I turn around. Don't give up hope.

Yes, i meant the starter, sometimes the windings and stuff get messed up, and hitting it with the hammer helps, although it is just a temporary fix.

I don't know what it means to give up. Money has been thrown at my 94 like I throw seeds at birds. A lot, that is.
94 SSEi - Project car
99 SLE - Tuned with different parts and such
85 Porsche 944 - Daily driver
68 Chevy C-10 - Free truck! Needs parts.
