...because I broke into the 13's! This was my ultimate goal when I bought this car. But of course the 'end game' with a project car is always moving, haha.
Anyhow, 13.85 @102mph! I went out to the strip a few weeks back but I couldn't pull off better than a 14.21, spinning off the line & terrible 60' times, but was still trapping over 100mph so I knew the ET's could be in the 13s if she'd hook. Several guys were complaining about a slick track, and Richmond Dragway is becoming notoriously slack especially in the past few years. At any rate, I went back this past Friday and track prep was muuch better. Only prep for the car was emptying the trunk of my tools & detailing stuff that I always carry and lowered the tire pressure to 25psi. Started off the night with a 14.07 and was disappointed because my first pass is almost always the quickest, but 2nd pass was a 13.9 then that 13.85 and then backed up to 13.87. I think there's a little bit more to gain with a better launch, because every time I launched I expected it to spin and didn't so I kept trying to put a little bit more throttle down each time but then the night was over. All in all though, I'm very happy with the results, especially for still being on stock heads, cam & valvetrain @ 208k miles.
That is awesome! Congrats Will!
That mileage really has gotten up there since I'd last seen that car...you obviously are keeping it in perfect working order, and then some!
Next stop: 12s!

I was having the same issues. On street tires the same thing, spinning. I got a best of 13.91 on one pass. I know with slicks it could be a lot better.
Intercooler/GenV/3.2/N* setup gained me +45hp and +123 ft-lb.
Problem though is the torque peaks around 2000rpm. So the only way it's all going to see the ground is with slicks, a good launch and some prayers nothing breaks.
