Cleaned up the 89

It was nice out today, so I cleaned up the 89 and took some pics.

very nice, and very clean... my dad had an 88 le that looked identical to that one, ours had a custom sunroof tho. but she had an early grave... only 169,000 on her.. and i still have the gauge cluster tacked up on my wall. still have a bunch of other parts from her too. anyways glad to see her in such nice shape...

Thats a gorgeous example. Kudos to you to keeping her so well preserved. Our 90 still runs great but doesnt look HALF that good sadly.

Thanks for the compliments. I don't know why, but this car has grown on me. It has a nice ride and runs great and I plan on keeping it that way. There are a few things I want to do to it yet like a dark tint all around and new wheels.

fuelforthesoul1999, are these the wheels you are talking about? I like these more than the honeycomb style. Gonna paint them the same color as the car with gold outline of the pontiac symbol.

Darn that makes me miss mine...but obviously mine probably didn't look that good on the outside 10 years ago!

to those that remember mine...and the reason i got rid of it...just an update...got a confirmation that it is STILL on the road, just resold again a couple months back...i presume..with the same major problem!

and heck, i sold it back in Sept 2007...can't imagine that rust can get much worse before SOMETHING happens. just goes to show how well those *dang* things are built i guess!

any projections of how long you think you'll have her around Matt?

Until the wheels fall off.

I have 5 daughters that will be using this as their first car. It will always be mine and they know how I take care of it and hopefully it will rub off on them.

Uh oh...daughters + daily driver....sure hope we don't ever see a thread about any incidents with it....its sort of nice to think of a car like that sitting in place, completely safe, lasting forever...but hell, its a car, guess that means its meant to be driven, whatever chances that takes! suppose it goes without saying that they know how special and rare of a car that's becoming nowadays!

Taking care of aging car can be very time consuming. Do you spend that kinda time on your other cars? Would we be getting a chance to see her at WCBF 09? Nice work Matt, thanks for sharing.
