Almost killed on the highway...

Post by RJGill84 »

I was driving westbound on the Ohio Turnpike at about 11pm when this SUV comes up beside me and then cuts me off for absolutely no reason. I go to start blaring the horn and lights, when I see a car FLY past me going EASTBOUND in the westbound lane at about 80mph in the lane the SUV was just in, and realize the SUV driver was getting out of the way of this #$*)@. The guy in the SUV nearly hit him - he was INCHES from hitting that car head on with both cars doing over 70mph. OMG...I nearly passed out from the confusion/scare of it all.

We exited @ the tollbooth and told the officer, who had already been informed by 2 other freaked out drivers. They dispatched officers, but who knows if they caught the guy.

Just thinking about it freaks me out still. It was the scariest thing I've ever gone through in a car. I can't believe this idiot even got on the wrong side of the road...it's a 4 lane DIVIDED highway! My life and that SUV occupants were literally within INCHES of death...scary stuff. Imagine a head on crash with cars going that fast...man. I was lucky.

is 80 really fast there? that's the average speed of drivers on 35 Image

even so, thats never fun. Ive had a few experiences like that, and even though i think im over it an hour later i notice my hands are shaking from the adrenaline.

I'm with Ryan. I've definitely had a few close calls where I keep shaking for quite a few hours afterward. Brakes failing and almost getting cooked by a semi was definitely one. :helpsmilie:

Sounds pretty insane. Glad you're alright...

That certainly is...odd.

yea, this is scary sh*t considering i went through this last night, but only at ~45 mph. dumb jag didn't know the road turned i guess and went across into our pair of lanes :roll. so i swerved across three lanes of traffic to avoid a nasty collision
