Austin, odds are Ill have a bit of a half assed stereo setup. Basically the same speakers and amps as before and probably a dayton reference HO 12 in a new box. Only other thaing thats new since youve seen it is the DEH80prs. I was really hoping to have fiberglass speaker pods and a fiberglass sub box by the meet but obviously hoping doesnt get things done.

Some of you have already seen on Facebook, but I'm moving to New Jersey and so I will be scarce for this meet. I'm flying out there this week and coming back that Friday so I should be around Friday night but that's all I know right now. I'm also going to be using that weekend to move all of my stuff out there so I might have to leave early on Saturday morning.
The Grand Prix will be there but it's not finished by a longshot. The Regal will be there of course though. I'm looking forward to seeing everybody though!

Just learned this information today, but looks like Tim will not be making it. I keep trying to talk him into still coming, but he's missed a lot of work lately and it may restrict how many days off he can take.

So, if he doesn't make it, that will mean a couple things:

1. Sorry, Nick, no beer this time,
2. Without his truck, I will be hauling everything in my car, so I will probably not bring certain things, like my detailing supplies this time.

It sucks, but I understand his situation.

Also, I plan to not work on anything on my car this time, so I should be back to snapping tons of pics and video.

Might have to drive to the nearest place that has it or see if I can persuade Booze to grab some on his way there. Not seeing Tim or his new truck will be a bummer but I understand where he's coming from. I have a hard time getting away from the office this time of year also and will definitely be playing catch up for the 2 days I will miss

It's getting to be that time! Last call!

If you are NOT on the facebook event page, you must PM me to get my address / cell phone number!!!

For people arriving Friday evening, we will be at the track at gates open. I recommend you either meet us there to spectate/participate or plan on arriving before we leave for the track. Depending on how busy it is, I will want to get at least 4 runs in.

Did you post the address for the track somewhere? I'll probably arrive during that time and spectate. Not sure exactly when I'll be leaving my area, but it's only 5/5.5 hours to Matt's from my house, and where the wedding is is 65 miles closer.

Take it easy on Plank road, it's really bumpy for a road that goes to a race track.

Well, sad news for me today. If you don't want to read the entire explanation, the short story is I'm not going to be able to make it to the meet.

If your up for reading a novel, here goes:

As some of you know, I'm in the process of buying a house. I had concerns about mold and the high watertable in the area. Had it inspected and it all checked out. Phew!! Got approved for the loan and during underwriting they ran into a snag. Had to get the loan reworked and our out of pocket increased. Yay, me!! Still looking at closing at the end of June so money is a little tight and we were continuing to budget tightly to accomodate the increase in closing costs. We had every intention of making that weekend work.

I was excited to meet everyone and see the cars. I was expecting a great time! But, the other day I was working on the car and received a call from Paypal's fraud department. I wasn't about to answer any personal questions over the phone to an unknown number claiming to be Paypal so I hung up. I ran inside and logged in to find several purchases on my account for a LOT of Euros. I was sick!!! Then I did the conversion and got even more upset!! It was all direct withdrawals from my checking account and overdrafted it several thousands!! My debit card is useless and I'm having a hard time adjusting to the temporary change...

Paypal is working to fix the problem and they say I'll have my money within 10 days but then I have to transfer it back to my bank which takes 2-3 and THEN the bank will look into crediting the overdraft charges. In the meantime, I can't pay bills and I can pull cash from my savings but I can't put it into my checking because it will just go towards the negative balance!!!!

I'm sure this will all work out but right now, I don't see much light at the end of the tunnel!!! There's NO WAY I can justify withdrawaling from my savings to go for a weekend trip about my car right now. You can take me off the list and maybe some other time, I'll get to meet everyone.

Bummer about the coin too... I was looking forward to getting one of those. Track time is a little easier to plan than a custom made coin...

Well, to those of you that made it this far, thanks for listening to my troubles....

Zipties count as secured, as long as the battery can't fall out. Otherwise I do have extra battery tie downs.

When I raced the LeSabre, I didn't have a battery tie down - I was allowed to race because the hinge for the hood and the A/C lines held the battery from moving when the hood was closed.

BBamm - that's horrible. But I know how you can take your mind off it, come to the meet anyway!!! A weekend relaxing with friends isn't just about your car. But in all seriousness, sometimes it's good to take your mind off the worry and blow some savings for a car meet; the biggest expenses are usually food and gas.
I hope everything gets sorted out for you in a timely manner though - there is always Woodward or next year!!

Good to know. I had to take the battery tray out and was going to weld or bolt a new one in but couldn't find a replacement.

Coins won't be as fine of detail as they could be. I wanted to print them at 50 micron, but had to bump that up to 200 just for time constraints. Even still, this will log about 90 hours of total print time. I took the printer home this weekend to make sure I have enough time to sprue them up. Regardless, they will be very cool, and I really look forward to pouring them! I am sure that these will be held on to for many years to come.

Almost everything is set up for the melt furnace, going to run a test fire tonight and finish making tools. Also need to figure out a cover for it that has a hole in the center to make it easy to load material in the crucible.

I picked up a few loaf pans that are 9" x 5" x 3" to try a different technique instead of making a sprue tree. This will have better venting, and should reduce our chances of having gas pockets. If I drilled the corners to accommodate wire handles, would you feel safe using a hook to set these molds into the aluminum vacuum chamber to reduces bubbles further? The vac chamber is basically just aluminum tubing. It has about 12" ID, with a 30" or so depth. We would probably want to set a few bricks in the bottom.
