No screws for the caps. Just pinch their "legs" and wiggle and pull.

Re: What did you do to your car today?
So does sheering off a camber bolt, snapping the head off a brake hose bolt, dropping the bolts in the oil pan and spilling brake fluid all over everywhere count? Just called it quits after all that before more things got broke.....

I mean technically, you did DO those things to the car. So it does count.

Re: What did you do to your car today?
Clay, welcome to my world. No feeling sorry for yourself. Step back (even if you have to for a few days, or week), take a deep breath, get a game plan together, review it to see if you've considered all the caveats you can think of, then go at it again. There's nothing wrong with getting someone to come over and give a second opinion either. And yes, unfortunately, it does count. But I do stuff like that when I work on the car too. - BC94SilverSSEi wrote:So does sheering off a camber bolt, snapping the head off a brake hose bolt, dropping the bolts in the oil pan and spilling brake fluid all over everywhere count? Probably not surprising but I broke the head off the oil level sensor putting on the oil pan because I thought it would be easy to just wiggle the assembly together so I left the sensor in place.
Not a good choice. Id reiterate what was said. When things start going bad put down the wrench and relax.

I'm also working to get enough space to get one car into the garage. I know I can do it because I used to put my full size pickup in the garage (the garage door would only close if ol gertie was in nose first)myfirstbonnie wrote:Yesterday I put air in Chicken Guts' tires. Also working on the garage to get both vehicles in it......... at the same time.
However im getting something quite radical thats going in there...
Check out my "Black Betty" in the other rides for this

As for my car, I tidied up the white walls... I have had the worst time making the paint stick, never before did I have such problems... I may have to go back to the "white letter tires" on the other side.
Today I drove almost 100 miles back and forth around the city doing things for PetBull project

I fixed the stupid whistling noise on the 04 and then I took care of a couple small issues on the 96. Changed the air filter and tightened up a leaky heater hose clamp.

Re: What did you do to your car today?
Well after lubing that camber bolt for a week and beating on it relentlessly, looks like it might be time for the torch and a new control arm.
But in other news I did get a trans put in and everything went perfectly smoothly, and functions properly. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop..... Something fishy there, nothing ever goes that smoothly.

Yeah, I'd say it was time for a new mount. That thing has seen its day.

Re: What did you do to your car today?
Today, took the car to the car wash, used a "new mico-something-or-other wax" and, vacuumed it out. Yesterday put on new front rotors and pads. Took me from noon to 9:30PM. The wife had to call the youngest son to come help me bleed the brakes. I didn't have enough energy to finish. Needless to say, he wasn't happy with me putting the brakes on myself. He told me not to try it with the rear brakes as I have them in the box waiting to be installed.

Pulled carpet out to diagnose water leak, put reman air pump in, replaced rear air shocks(bye bye CCR), put new fuel pump in, changed oil, tuned again, new sun visors, etc and did a little junk yard scavenging to find some parts. All since Friday morning.....
