There is one of these terrorizing the streets a few blocks away from me. 1028whp?! Not an anamoly either, he's been doing crazy insane power (though not 1028whp crazy insane) out of this Camry for the better part of a decade now. Pretty sure it was his mom's DD for a while

The Camrys are pretty quick. We have a tarted up one(2010 Lexus ES350), and my Buick was slower than it on the 3.8 pulley with all the mods in my sig. 3.6 pulley got the Buick to be just a little bit quicker. On the 3.4" it would blow the doors off of it, but it's kind of sad that an L36 block top swap needs that many mods to be quicker than such a boring car. I feel dead to the world whenever I drive the Lexus.

I'll be honest with you, a G8 GT may be getting to a point where it's "not enough" within a few years as all these wonder engines start catching up... Not that there is anything bad with the L76, but it too here in the next few years will be facing the issues that the LD8 did as it aged... Meaning others have caught up.

A stock G8 GT already has to think twice before facing a BMW 335i, and the GXP won't win by a mile either. Forget about the M3... Entry level luxury cars are creeping into the 13's on the quarter mile. One bad jump and they'll take it.

The nice thing is when you live in an area where people are too poor to regularly buy new BMW's, the G8 GT still holds an advantage. But there are a growing number of youngin's with heavily modded STi's - 500+ hp. But, I know of few of them, and they still respect the big V8.

That'll be one heck of a stage to bump it 63 ft/lbs at the wheels.

Figuring 20% loss (that's what I lose through my A6 and IRS), that's a near 80 ft/lb crank pickup.

Yep. At crank, it should be making 545 lb/ft of torque. It will be down on horsepower though compared to yours.

One of the reasons I like to daily my '98 i30.. It surprises the crap out of people. The engine is a mix match of different years but with stock cams it's capable of 13.0 with a 2.0 60'. It's not the quickest thing by any means but it leaves a lot of question marks over people's heads.

Nasta, what dose your infinity (?98i) sound like with all those miss matched parts? There is an infinity across the street and it's a dead giveaway for a 98 Bonneville.

When the time comes I'll find a car and go crazy modding it. But for now I'll have different priorities for Betty: Dependability, mileage, comfort and safety. I'll be thinking twice before assuming some lite and tite Orient car is beneath me.
