Oil pressure gauge sensor leak

My oil pressure gauge sensor leaks no matter what I do. I tightened it up, put on teflon tape and re-installed it; but no matter what it leaks a lot after a day or two. What can I do to fix this?

Are you sure it's leaking out the threads? Take the connector off and see if it's leaking out the end first. I usually use a paste applied thread sealant, there are some marketed toward the automotive that your local parts store should have on hand. I usually have problems with the teflon tape on anything but cast iron pipe.

I used teflon tape on mine, I believe. No leaks. Or do they come with sealer on them... it's been a while.

New Senders come with a Red Sealant on them

What if it is leaking out the end? Would I need a new sender?

If it leaks out the end then yes you would need a new sender.

Yeah you need to get a new one. They don't cost much though and aren't too hard to replace
