Goodyear Eagle GT-HR. Paid $83 a piece for them. Just rotated them for the first time at 42,000 miles and they'll make it to 55k no problem. Not terribly sexy but otherwise alright.
They look a little brown, but cheap tire shine is probably the cause of (and solution to) that.

235/55/17 are what came on it. I was thinking about a 255/55 /17 though, they're just a hair taller, but, a good bit wider. Thought about lowering the car some too. What would you suggest?01bonneSC wrote:Having a taller sidewall will affect your overall handling of the car. That size is the stock size.RYODER wrote:I've got Kuhmo something, 235/55/17 on mine. I do think I'll go with something that fills up the fender wells a little better though. Any suggestions?

I'm now running my 97 SE on Yokohama Avid ENVigors. They're very good on dry and wet pavement. We have mild winters so I don't have any experience with them in snow.

Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500

Quite possibly the best summer tire I've ever used. Quiet and great traction. It is not an all season and they wear quickly since they are a soft compound tire, so you only get about 25,000 miles out of them. If it snows I still have some Dunlop Wintersport M3s on a separate seat of 16" rims.
On the other car it came with Nexen - N7000s. These are quiet but absolutely terrible corning, terrible in the rain as well even though they are nearly new. I was sliding all over the place last rain storm.

Continental DWS 245/50/17 and I love them. They're quiet, smooth and handle very well. All in all, much better than the Michelin Pilot Sports I had before.
