Installed this a few months back, but never did the photobucket thing until now..

Last few pictures show the iPod jack I installed this weekend.

Pretty good. Did you have a look around for GXP interior dash accessories?

You might want to keep some type of retainer in that jack when nothing is plugged into it to prevent dirt, dust and any moisture from getting down into it.

Excellent tho...

Might I ask how the jack was done? Take any install pics?

Not at the time I got the wood dash kit. I didn't realize that the GXP interior had the carbon fiber accents. In retrospect, it is something that might have worked... But for a work car, I'm pretty happy. I can't even call this thing a beater.

I got the iPod jack info from hawkjet's thread. http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... f=13&t=318 Mike (lewis26) posted the info at the end of the thread. Since I had purchased an XM subscription right after I bought the '05, I was at a loss regarding the iPod. I wanted to retain the factory radio as well as the XM thru the tuner. I tried several FM transmitters, but nothing provided decent audio quality. Mike's solution utilizing the XM module was the answer for me. Ripping out the seats to hide everything was the most time consuming aspect of it. Works just like the MP3 jack in the center console of my wife's Acura. The pictures make it look a lot dustier than it is. Hopefully the ashtray lid will keep anything out of the jack. I'll keep my eye out for a plug tho.

From what I can tell you do things right, nothing flashy or anything, just little things to add to the car. Thats the way to do it!

I have a Belkin FM transmitter and the audio quality is as good as anything else, but the Charger died, so i'm looking for another one again, my iPod can't power itself and that for very long. I have a Gen 2 nano, btw

Looks good. You should sit in the back seat and get some shots of the whole dash. From what I can tell it looks pretty good, nice job.

an FM transmitter will never sound as good as a hard wired jack, or even a tape adapter.

X2 on the FM adapter. I bought one, and took it back twice, thinking I had a defective one. I thought I'd done my research and purchased a decent one, but who knows... http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... =9&p=27372 Pretty happy with the hard-wired solution, though.
