Cooling fans stay on.

Post by 57lxi »

I noticied this morning when I fired up the car, both fans came on, high speed. Fan temp switch? Relay?
This car is starting to try my patience, and my wallet, but at this point, I am going to keep plugging at it till its ALL fixed (does that ever happen?) 8-[

.....I know the AC system has a pressure switch that activates the fans, AC works fine. Is there another switch on the engine?

Do the fans turn off when the AC is off?

No, they stay on high all the time. I was thinking of jumping the pressure swith on the AC to see if they act like they should. Its gonna be a real pisser if the AC pressure switch is bad, just had the system filled. :angry4:

I had same problem about 8 months ago. It was a broken wire from the pressure swith. Check the wiring but it could be a bad pressure switch. Another possibility, unlikely, could be the system is over charged.
