Re: Cleaning carpets
I scrub the crap out of them with a small brush, and then finish with a power wash.

Re: Cleaning carpets
I use a small hand pressure sprayer (a pesticide sprayer, but I bought and dedicated it for this purpose) to spray the carpets with a carpets cleaning solution + deodorizer, or whatever cleaners/stain removers you want. I then vacuum with a wet/dry shop vac. You'd be surprised how black the water is, even after several cleanings.
When you pressure wash, are you doing this inside the car? If so, I'd think that you might get shorts and corrosion on electrical connectors, and mould in the carpet underlay that won't dry even over several days. I'm going to assume you are pressure washing the removable mats.

No, I'm going to assume he removes the whole interior or at least the seats and console, and pulls the carpet out, like what Haro does.
How often do you do this?

Re: Cleaning carpets
The carpet is all ready out for my stereo install. I have used some citrus degresser on other cars, but worried about the backing on the 00+ carpets. Plus i would like to scotch gard it or something.

Re: Cleaning carpets
I'd use carpet soap and the brush on the top of the can, scrub and wash it, then let it dry next to a heater and some fans.

Re: Cleaning carpets
I've got a big bottle of high traffic carpet cleaner from Home Depot that works pretty well. I've got a spray bottle with the cleaner, and another with water. I spray an area with the cleaner, scrub it with a brush, rinse it with the water, and suck it up with the shop vac.

Re: Cleaning carpets
I took my carpet's out. The roof used to leak and there would be puddles of water and wet carpet under my seats. So, my solution remove the seats and take the pet out of my car, literlally no carpet. I've been debating on weather or not to use rhino-liner on my floor like the back back of a pickup. Just haven't found the time yet.
