another one?!?!?!

Post by harofreak00 »

Picked this up this morning. 99k on the car/engine and only 10k on the rebuilt transmission. Runs and drives great, except for a sticking front brake caliper. The only catch is, no title. Paid $1900, he wanted $3k if I needed the title. No problem, I'll part it. Engine is going in the 03, rear bumper cover is going on my 00, and the rest will be sold. Need anything?

I bet so too! :P

Sorry Mike, these seats will be sold as a whole, as they are heated and work. People are always asked me for heated seats.

I know you said you'll swap in the engine but why not just swap the whole powertrain since you know it works. I could be wrong but the last time I saw your other thread, you said you drove the maroon SSEi up to like second gear and it "seemed" to work.

Otherwise, lovely find as always!

Could be worse....they could be Yugos! lol

Sucks that it has to be parted, but sometimes that's life. Same situation as the 88SE my brother and I went in on. Car had sat 5 years, title was lost, so just a bill of sale. Dropped a battery in, Key off and on a couple of times to pressure the rail and it started on the 3rd crank. But we parted it due to the title issue. Helped our decision that the car had been parked unlocked for the 5 years and used as a homeless shelter. We wore rubber gloves if we had to mess around inside because of all the empty bottles and moldy food. Body was nice and clean though!

The maroon one will fix up sweet :)

Another 1100 for the title? Sounds shady... How hot is the car, or how much did he have left on his loan he's going to just let default?

There have been meets in MN no less, with fewer Bonnevilles..

Agreed....I don't understand why he would sell it for less and he keeps the title....why is the title worth $1100 to him?

LOL Jason. Might not be a bad thing to run the VIN or plates by a DMV? Did you at least get a bill of sale? (I know you're not stupid)

My first mini meet there were 2, mine and haro's, and during Travis's tranny R&R there were three. So yes, there have been fewer during meets, lol.

Not sure yet, maybe $600-700.

Junk, but I do have a mint one.

I have no doubts the other tranny doesn't work. If it doesn't just more work on my part. Selling a tranny with 10k on it will make a lot more than a tranny with 90k on it.
BonneMe wrote:Another 1100 for the title? Sounds shady... How hot is the car, or how much did he have left on his loan he's going to just let default?
Well I know its not stolen because I found old insurance cards in the car with his name on it. He paid $18k for it back in 2002. However, he did say he has "a couple thousand" left on the lean against it. I'm pretty sure he will let the loan default, and thats his own problem, because by the time they come looking for the car, its going to be about 6" tall and naked. I also doubt he is hurting for money, as he pulled up in a brand new dually SuperDuty, lifted to the sky, with 37" tires. It could have ran over my truck. And yes, I did get a bill of sale, with all his info short of his SS number.

Cleaned up the rims and tires this afternoon. They look great.
