tranny prob?

alright here's the problem, some times when accelerating from a stop will cause car to just about die. then when around 50, the car will like will shake and have no power, till i goose it, feels like a rev limiter

I don't know the answer but my experience has been engine problems on the freeway can feel like tranny problems. I'm betting it's not the tranny. Sounds like a fuel delivery issue.

I agree it does not sound like a tranny issue.

Rarely see fuel being an issue at speed.

Hows your ignition system, when was the last time the plugs and wires were changed?

They are still suspect and should be checked out, use an ohm meter on the plug wires and a visual of the plugs including checking the gaping.

did both, the gap was at .50, so put that at .60 and i'll get a meter soon.

Clean or replace the MAF. I had the same issure two weeks ago... almost feels like the car dosn't know which gear it wants to be in at higher speeds, and wants to die from a start. Replaced MAF, took care of issure. Snap on scan tool showed that when the roughness was there, the MAF was actually showing like 76000 hz. then drop to 0 for a moment. Never set a check engine light.
