This is not good. Way too many problems with cars this year. I hope this trend don't continue to the track.

Celin's car is back to a somewhat normal state. Phantom codes are now gone, but I gotta tell you we disconnected and checked *dang* near every ground, wiring harness, junction, etc. I had her underhood junction box completely ripped apart yesterday with wires all over the place. Put me in the mood for italian food. Boost gauge is working again, TPS and MAF codes are gone, but still issues regarding vehicle speed. None indicated on the HUD, speedo, and cruise is still out. PCM sees the VSS, but isn't passing the signal on, or it's not getting to the others from somewhere. Lots of help and support from the PDXCGP (our competition every year) forum as well as the IDCGP crowd, but nothing is jumping out at us right now. Speedo issues are intermittent dating back 3 years or so. Let's just say all the extra gremlins on the trip are gone, one old problem remains.

PDXGTP's axle popping out seems to be a one-time deal. He was able to pop it back in on the road, hasn't come out again. We're watching it closely, and I have spare axle clips if needed. He got some lingering issues repaired in my driveway yesterday and is just down to working on his tune now.

Rear swaybar is in Bugsi's car, front bar he bought was not FE2, regardless of the proper RPO code on the donor car. Rear fixed the understeer and gave the car neutral handling (as I suspected would be the case). His blood pressure and chest pain issues haven't repeated.

Jared's car is still gutted in my driveway, and two motors being swapped over in m garage. Cam, heads, and valvetrain move over to the new motor this morning, then the motor goes back in. We will not make Test/Tune at woodburn this afternoon, shooting for competition in the morning, but his car still needs time to get a tune locked in after we get it running. Jared, Taylor, and I will stay behind at ZillaMotorsports until the work is done.

We're still trying to figure out what to do with Ray's car, but he's covered for the meet.

It's been a busy meet. This doesn't include all the small jobs (oil and plugs in almost every other car here, fixing little issues here and there).

Some pics from yesterday. Taylor and I got an early start on Celin's car (left here overnight). Thomas came by for some tweaking, and we got started on Jared's motor swap.

Keven, Celin, and Taylor poking wires

The empty driveway break about mid-day. PDXGTP in for minor service

SuperSLE arrives clanking and banging for the swap. I have a vid of him pulling it into the driveway.

PDXGTP gets a new High-Flow Cat (pinhead, for those that have been here)

Image
Lisa got ahold of my camera apparently. BoiseGTP and willwren starting the SuperSLE disconnect while Jared was picking up the motor

Old. Had a helluva time with the L67 harmonic balancer on the blown motor. Threaded holes weren't in good shape after a few off/on cycles. A little creativity on my part got it off........barely.

Gotta run. Keven and Jared are on the way from the KOA. Gotta find my gasket scrapers, get a shower and get dressed.

Motor's back in the car but I don't think it's done yet. No more injuries today unless you count me cutting the back of my ankle shaving at 12 in the morning. It did bleed alot though, some lasting blood stains on the bath mat, I'll see if I can post pics later, good reminder for future meets huh?

Reports from the track say PDXGTP ran a 12.6 in 90 degree heat. No word on how myfirstbonnie did on Pdad's slicks.

We're 30 minutes from turning the key on jshelton54's cranky superSLE.

Boss455 had a brutal night and day. Crashed on the hammock in the back yard.

Filling coolant and oil. Emergency repair on the SC belt tensioner. Details at 11.

Found the root of his tuning issues. Melted vacuum lines. I built him a new vac harness.

Started teardown at 4pm yesterday with no motor in the shop.

Car started at 7pm today, with 6 hours of sleep for all in between. Oil pressure is good, burping out the intercooler now.

OK, my drag racing cherry has been broken. Car is not all that fast, but I beat a few Fords and GP, don't think I was up against any Bonnies. Best time was 16.30. RT was crap, I need to work on that.

What was the 60' on the 16.3? I ran a 15.9 on worn out tires on a 2.2 60' in my '93 with 2.5" exhaust and an intake.

we're done and sortof cleaned up. Zilla is packed. Leaving the KOA at 6am sharp in the caravan for the dragstrip. All cars are miraculously running except for Ray's, which didn't make it here. He's driving the SLEeper to the track, driverjohn2005 is taking the reins for race day since he didn't bring gravenge.
