WCBF 2009 Begins.........new PAGE 9 PICS (lots of 'em)

Post by willwren »

6th annual for us. First out-of-town cars rolled in yesterday (VBCSpangler, greyhare, and I all live here, VBCspangler is only about 12 blocks away).

myfirstbonnie and two of the girls pulled in first at about noon, and we got started on spark plugs for his 2k and the Zilla (greyhare in the background):

First blood of the meet! Matt (myfirstbonnie) wounds himself and is tended to by the meet medic, Shorty94:
Image

VBCspangler's car rolls in with him in it (across the street):
Image

John and Margaret rolled in from BC in the afternoon and came by for awhile. They towed the travel trailer and brought the car as well. The annoying ticking noise on the truck turned out to be a loose hubcap, not the motor, u-joint, or a loose bottle of wine in the trailer (that was already broken).

Off to the campground. Margaret (Mrs JMH1950) and Lisa having a little girlie-chat:

Matt, Jordan, and John (myfirstbonnie, VBCspangler, JMH1950):

Margaret lip-feeding Dex:

Lisa and I both have to work today and part of tomorrow. The crew will be here for more car work while we're away (and keep an eye on the recently gelded Dex). More cars are expected in later today, including Mr. and Mrs. Bugsi and maybe others.

Almost 8 am on day two...... seems like Margaret over did it a tad last night, she's "not feeling all that great" :beerchug:

Hope Lisa is in better shape than Margaret is since she has to work today.

I'm betting worse, but she'll tough it out. Liberal use of mental lube (fermented fruit) last night for those two.

Excellent start...*dang* it looks like everyone is already having fun!!! Keep those pics and updates rollin'. Hopefully you have someone assigned to a computer for "tweets"...hahahaha. What a crock that is! Just keep these posts as often as possible for us unlucky ones that couldn't make it (again)!
2000 SSEi (Silver Eagle) cleared corners (before accident) new LIM gasket, drilled 180 T-stat, new plugs and wires, new valve cover gaskets, new Supercharger gasket, third brake light overlay. Hopefully soon to start more mods for performance. Also, 2005 White SE totally stock and will remain that way!

Expecting PDXGTP and family from AZ this evening, as well as Bugsi and Heidi and family from CA.

I'm still stuck at work, leaving soon. The WCBF crowd are all at my place washing cars. (I left Lisa to defend my bar)

Didn't work did it?

5 nice clean Bonnevilles sitting in front of Bill's place, but it took an hour for Bill to notice that his collection of dirt was missing from the Sleeper. :)

I think we'll have to wait until morning.

They are probably cleaning their tools and moisturizing their venturi's with copious amounts of brown liquid right now.

PDXGTP made it into town, we didn't see him, but just got home to find a bunch of stuff in my garage.....his slicks, pulleys, helmet and a beautiful trophy.

Bugsi and Heidi have made a total of 98 miles. In Vacaville now. Expecting them sometime tomorrow. We'll get some pics up tomorrow. Got a bit of car work scheduled, including a promotional install of JL Audio speakers in the Zilla. Freebies, pro install. Long story.

Nopee, never got my passport.. I could try but wouldn't get past the border without a passport.
I mean I could by all means try... $170.00 worth of gas enough to get down there and back?
Bill, PM me your address so I can GPS it and see how long of a trip it would be. Andd possibly a phone number that I could reach you at if I do get past the border?

Rags, it's about a 7 hour drive from the border, depending on how much speeding is done and the traffic through Seattle and Portland. It's about 650 km to Bill's place from the border and gas is running about $2.75 a gallon down here.
I think if you have your birth certificate and drivers license you MIGHT get across, depending if they are still in the mood to be lenient or not.

Still waiting for the slow-pokin' Bugsi and Heidi. PDXGTP and family headed to the coast today. John and Matt are tinkering. Matt's MPS and 3.4 are on, oil changed, and installing a wideband (from Thomas) for tuning.

The good part is that if you do make it into the US, you shouldn't have a problem going back. It's getting into the US that's the tricky part.
