Re: Interesting Discovery Tonight...
Running rich to suppress KR is called fuel dumping. The extra fuel cools the intake charge and acts as a buffer in the combustion process. Spin the blower slower and it makes less heat; the air is denser and, less prone to detonation. You can run more timing and a better optimized A:F.

Good stuff.
Much more and your teeth will rattle as much as mine.
My BFI mounts are not too bad when it is warm; noticable when cold.
The camber plates transmit a lot of road noise.

It seems like you have not really organized your project.
To give you better information we need a little from you.
Let's start with the basics:

Re: boost-ablility
I do not have enough back ground knowledge of the 3800 so I will not add to the debate.
A fundamental truth of modding is:
Set your priorities
Performance
Reliability
Cost
Pick two, you can not have all three.

Any forced induction would have similar results.phoenix_flame220 wrote:I never said anything about SUPER charging..I am just curious as to the actual number would be.
My guess is rod flex caused the demise of the "experiment".

What side is the front differential on?
I know some Jeeps had the engine offset from center to make room for the front diff. and drive shaft.

More road noise with the camber/caster plates.
Looks just like it did last time you saw it Paul. (Unless you know what to look for.) :)
Alignment will be done Wednesday. Then I get get to see what it will do.
Front roll center is about 3" higher and there is near 1 degree more camber ...

Re: A little suspension work. (56K not recommended.)
Coils are Bilstein PSS. I am using the camber plates for caster. The A3 and earlier have plenty of camber adjustment but barely 2 deg of caster. I will still be less than +5 degrees caster.
I run in full street trim, stock spare etc... Yes RE-01R's. This will be the last summer I get out of them ...

The mods may even lower the trade value. (Liability the dealer does not want.)

Dry chemical extinguisher?
Baking soda or PKP?
Both are abrasive, both get everywhere, PKP becomes corrosive with moisture.
I would suggest inspecting/repairing all wires before connecting the battery.

Re: MSD DIS-4 Plus Distributorless 4 Channel
The 3800 is not know for weak ignitions.
Looking at the DIS manual it should work but, I doubt you would see a noticeable difference on an engine that was even remotely streetable.
