How did that happen? You did disconnect the battery, right?!

yeah the battery was disconnected.
yes it could have been allot worse.
the white dust is absolutely everywhere, the engine compartment, all over the outside, and the windows were down so the interior is white from the fire extinguisher dust as well.

its gonna be a few days cleanup for sure. the ironic thing is the reason i was taking it apart was because i wanted to do some major engine detailing. . . guess i got a little more than i bargained for.
the only visible damage is the hood liner is burned to *shoot* and a few wires were a little burnt but not bad. i have yet to see if it runs.

the worst part was that the injector holes were exposed when the fire started, so the dust from the extinguisher got in there as well. hopefully it will be fine i cleaned it the best as possible.

i will try and get pics later this week, but my cousins wedding is today ( i missed it because of the fire cleanup) so the camera is on duty there.

Dry chemical extinguisher?

Baking soda or PKP?

Both are abrasive, both get everywhere, PKP becomes corrosive with moisture.

I would suggest inspecting/repairing all wires before connecting the battery.

i got it back together all the wires seemed to be fine and it started right up!
after a few victory laps around the garage i took it for a drive and got a flat tire :angry4: . it just wasn't my day.

i took it to the car wash and after about a half an hour of washing there is no evidence left behind on the exterior. the interior is next.

If I was you, I'd give it a full cleaning. Remove the seats, carpet, console, everything. Wash the carpet, and vacuum the interior, clean the seats, everything.
