Re: Everything you ever wanted to know about auto-dim mirror

If someone could help with an adapter or pin out I would be quite grateful!

Just to be clear:

Bonnie has: 16 Pin Gentex GNTX-261
The 'Trigue has a 7 Pin standard plug.

I have no clue what the pinout is on the Gentex nor the 'Trigue's harness.

Re: Can't figure out front end noise..

Walks like a duck...

The opposite bearing. I went through 3 of them in a month. They were cheap-os... but I had a lifetime warranty and no issue changing them myself. Torque to spec.

Do not discount the likelihood this is the bearing yet again.

It might also be a rear one. Sound travels funny ...

Re: Everything you ever wanted to know about auto-dim mirror

Sorry for the Zombie thread... but it is the perfect one.

I am yanking a mirror from my 02 Bonnie that has onstar/autodim/mic on it. It has a 16 pin connector and I want to put it in my 01 Intrigue that has a 7 pin connector.

Any help on the pinouts would be great!

Fuel Fitting At Rail - Possible Leak?

I was changing my alternator yesterday when I noticed that my ratchet handle smacked something on a few back swings... then I realized that I could smell gas.

Long story short, there is a fitting at the injector rail... looks like a pop-snap-twisty type fitting... it was leaking pretty good. I ...

Re: Alignment of an 02 - WAY OUT!!!

Update on this situation:

I brought it to a GM dealership to get it aligned. I figured they would have all the necessary bits and pieces... and they did!

BUT...

They could only get the rear to this point:

Left Rear:
Camber: -0.6
Toe: 0.94

Right Rear:
Camber: -0.8
Toe:0.14

I was informed that ...

Re: found this in transmission pan.....what is it?

Is it magnetic?

Is it threaded or have a hole in it anywhere?

It looks like a clip on of some kind... is there a broken surface? Can you take more pictures?

I am wondering if it is part of a bigger piece...

Dont ever worry about posting questions that may or may not sound dumb!! I post them regularly to a few different forums... and without them, some forums would have no life!!

I am wondering with the fact that you are now noticing the sound of the fuel pump if there was some sort of sound proofing ...

There was an upgrade that a lot of the Grand Prix and Impala lads were doing where they upgraded the calipers to (I think) Camaro ones with a bracket mod of somekind... and went to the larger rotors.

Common upgrade...

I appreciate all the input from everyone! I am getting my Pierelli Ice Carvers and I don't want to ruin the tread by slapping them on before taking care of that rear toe... (lol... other side of a Camel Toe!)

I bought this car from a guy who knew nothing about cars and last mode of transportation was a Skoda pulled by a sick donkey...

The guy HE bought it from was anal retentive OCD guy who kept every bill for everything ever done to the car minus the gas bills.

All this being said, the last owner ...

Pulled the codes and found that the EGR is throwing codes (1404 was one of them...)

That would explain the stall I suppose... but from what I am reading, it seems to get more blame for a hard HOT start than a stall... but... whatever...!

Was told that I can pull one off of any car with a 3.8 ...

Non 'charged 02 Bonnie - Stall

Scared the goop out of me!

I drive 40 miles to work, and about halfway through the drive after coming off a highway cutting through the city my car stalled at an on ramp to a parkway. Stinking thing never stalled, coughed or choked before. I got this car in September... it has about 100 000 miles ...

Re: Can't figure out front end noise..

The remaining humming is likely the other side's bearing. Not a big deal. Raise the vehicle, and spin the wheel like Bob Barker has money for you, and you will figure out if that is the problem. There is nothing written anywhere that precludes a brand new bearing from being bad out of the box BTW ...

Re: same ol whirring/rubbing noise- bearring?

Hi guys... first post on this forum (Love it... and the participation level is quite high!!).

Diagnosing wheel bearings are easier than most seem to think. Jack up the car and spin the wheel. It should not sound like a pencil sharpener.

I used to have a hate on for the cheap wheel hubs and rotors ...
