There is no aftermarket support for the 04-05 Northstars. HP Tuners only supports 06 and up Northstars.
I would love to find out that I am wrong about this!
Adding an STS rear-mount turbo would be a reasonable solution, with some fabrication required. But since you can't tune the PCM, you are ...

Re: Wobble at 65mph +
I will say this, in the past I had a pretty bad shake when braking at 65 or better, which was a combination of warped front rotors and a bad hub. Just replacing the hub fixed it about 90%.
Not sure if this helps, other than a bad hub could cause the wobble. It might make sense to lift the car and ...

Re: Lets talk GXP brakes -- and brakes in general.
I recently got front rotors and pads as the original rotors got warped from 70k miles of somewhat hard driving. I did a bunch of online research on slotted and/or drilled rotors. I don't think there are any absolute right or wrong answers, but I ended up wanting slotted but not drilled rotors ...

Re: Methanol/water injection
I ran a Methanol / water kit on my car on my TurboCoupe for many years. It's personal choice, but all-in-all I would probably not run one on an S/Ced 3.8 daily driver. With a 2.3, I think it was the best way to go because you've got to run big boost to get any kind of power. I also had an IC, and ...

Re: Delayed exit lighting (Archon ol' buddy ol' pal haha)
I have some interest in this as well, although for a different reason. I am doing a HID projector retrofit on my GXP. When I unlock the doors at night, the headlamps flash a few times, which is not something you want to do with HID bulbs.

Thanks. I also noticed that there are bolts available to adjust camber as well:

Re: How is Camber Adjusted on the Front of Our Cars?
This time around I ended up getting tires that can be run with either side on the outside of the car, so that should allow me to mitigate the problem of uneven tire wear. But I think that adding 1/2 to 1 degree of negative camber ought to further extend tire life, and help the handling as well.

Re: How is Camber Adjusted on the Front of Our Cars?
Are you gonna do a DIY alignment??
Possibly.
Why are you concerned w/ camber?
Tire wear. Since I've owned the car, the outside front tires are wearing out way before the inside. I don't think there is anything wrong with the car - if grandma was driving it I bet the tires would wear evenly ...

How is Camber Adjusted on the Front of Our Cars?
It appears the bolt holes for the top strut mount are not elongated. I did a search and could not find any details on how to adjust camber, other than a mention of elongating the bolt holes. Seems kind of radical - is that the only way?

Re: GXP Headlights
Quick update - since I am doing a HID projector retrofit, I ended up buying a new pair of headlights from Ebay. I don't want the car down while I am installing the projectors, and I want to be able to go back to stock in case they don't like the HIDs, and for when I sell the car.

Re: GXP Headlights
Thanks Beast - I actually have a 3-stage kit and have had good results in the past, but that 3m kit looks like serious business! I guess I will probably go ahead and just polish the lenses although there are a few other reasons I was looking to replace them:

GXP Headlights
My headlight covers are getting pretty ratty, and I am ready to replace them. Anyone know where I can get the smoked GXP headlamp assemblies for a good price? Best I can tell, you can get aftermarket 04-05 Bonneville headlamps on ebay for about $120 each, but best I can tell these are the standard ...

Re: GXP vs NON-GXP mufflers..?!!?!
I hear ya Beast, I do love the sound of my GXP, and I don't consider it loud or obnoxious by any stretch. I would not recommend messing with it, but if you want it quiet, the typical muffler shop carries "granny mufflers" that can make a car quiet (at the expense of horsepower).

Re: GXP vs NON-GXP mufflers..?!!?!
The GXP definitely has a audible growl at anything off idle. I wouldn't call it loud, but it's pretty aggressive for a stock sedan. I've even had a few people ask what exhaust I had put on it. It is definitely louder than the exhaust note on a stock Caddy with a Northstar.

Re: Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly
Thanks dp - great info! It's number 41 in the diagram. I checked it out on the site and it's part#25752677 for the line, and 25696686 for the retaining clip. I can get both for less than $40 shipped to me, but they can't say if it is in stock. Armed with the part numbers, I am going to call a few ...

Wow, the part came today even though I used standard shipping. I ordered it Thursday afternoon, and it got here Saturday. They shipped it about an hour after I ordered. Impressive.

Thanks guys. Just wanted to get some thoughts...it's not getting any louder, so I should be good until the part arrives. Until then, I'm driving it easy and keeping my ears open for signs of trouble.

Re: Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly
Wow, this was a timely post. My passenger side hub was replaced under warrantee at 30k miles when it started humming. Now at 62k miles The drivers side started making a very faint noise (different noise...sounds something like a light tapping on a block of wood). Then yesterday on the highway I ...

Re: FY: Poll on who's got the "highway shimmy"
Have I had the shimmy? Yes, several times. Was it ever not cured by having the tires balanced? No. Discount tire gives free balances for the life of the tire, and I take advantage of that (although granted it is a pain to take it in).

Re: Um, my DIC won't reset
I've had a similar problem with my GXP for years. I recently pulled out the switch panel and tested it with a voltmeter. I found that if I push on the left side of the botton, it works about 90% of the time. If I push on the right side of middle of the button, it usually doesn't work. I also found ...
