Converter I/O on 99 Olds 88
Anyone have an idea as to what the inlet and outlet sizes on the converter are on a 99 Olds 88? I don't have the car near me (it's my Mom's) and she needs a new converter. As far as I can tell, it looks like it's 3" inlet and 2.25" out. Or is the downpipe insulated and the inlet is smaller than I ...

Part number for yellow fuel line o-rings?
I know it was talked about on here quite some time ago (I searched and couldn't find anything), but does anyone have the part number for the yellow o-rings that go inside of the nylon fuel line connectors? Specifically the 3/8" ones for the pressure line. Want to get 2 for the line that goes from ...

Gas tank strap bolts won't come out...
So yeah... it seems I have been stricken with the ever so typical spinning nut on the fuel tank strap bolts on the '99 Olds 88. Any tips on how to get them off? I tried sticking a wrench up in there with no luck.... can't get a hack saw in there and I definitely can't use heat.

Re: Project: Oldsmobille 88 LS
Ohio definitely is scatterbrained when it comes to inspections. Some counties do emissions checks and some dont. Fortunately, Stark County doesnt and Guernsey County doesnt either, so Greg and I are both pretty safe there, although it was never a big deal in Summit, when I lived in Akron (of course ...

Re: AGHHHH! Dang UIM
All done! Had a delay due to some parts on backorder, but all is good now! Had some lifter noise for a few minutes (I think I got some carb cleaner in 1 or 2 of them), but it went away. Ran an initial oil change through it, drained and put the current oil in, even though no coolant got into the oil ...

Mmm... yummy. NOT. Luckily, the LIM gaskets were NOT leaking.... which boggles me completely. F*** Dex... this thing is going to need a full 45 minute flush to get all that goop out.

So my sister's 99 Olds 88 hasn't moved in a few months. She just got her license a few weeks ago, and since it was warm, we finally decided to pull it out and get it back on the road.

Mom's 87 Ciera having fuel issues
So mom's car is having some problems. When you start it up after letting it sit, it shows signs of being flooded (backfire through the intake/exhaust, inside of air cleaner is soaked with gas, very hard to start). The only way we can get it to start is if we pull the fuel pump fuse and crank it ...

My Dad's Impala PLOWED through the snow with no issue. Only thing that was good about it :p His 2013 Civic also seems to glide right through everything as well. Haven't been stuck a single time.

Re: Camry vs Bonneville
Later Camry is pretty quick with the 3.5. Not a fan of Toyota whatsoever, but boy can that 3.5 MOVE. Toyota got the HP and TQ curves right on that engine, along with a nice axle ratio.

Very nice car! I almost bought one of these a while back and did some research on them. Keep an eye on the timing belt. Otherwise they are pretty reliable cars.

Blown engine or trans immediately drops the value on a car, regardless of condition. I would say around $1k as well.

Follow your brake lines. Do they go into a big box under the air cleaner? If not, you don't have ABS.

There's Dexron VI in my Mom's Ciera... it was a full flush, not a pan drop at 89k. Has the 3T40 with 94k on it. Shifts fine.

Re: Restoring Mr. Rusty: Pics are up!
Fixing that rust is dedication! Not many people would even bother with that!
Makes me feel like an ass thinking the little bit of rust on the BMW is bad.
