Bonnies having a few new-ish issues

Alright, so besides the gas cap code I always get when my check engine light comes on, I am now getting a Multiple/Random cylinder misfire code usually accompanied with my 02 Sensor code. I just swapped all three coil packs with ones I know were in good working condition but could have running the ...

Re: Just picked up an 03 Bonneville SE for $500 :D

Still have to get pics of what the interior looks like now - detailed it to the max a couple weeks ago! It needs the drivers fender, hood needs work, center taillight and bulbs on some of the interior switches (need them repaired on the SSEi too) needs rotors, pads, and I'm guessing a trans service ...

Just picked up an 03 Bonneville SE for $500 :D

03' Pontiac Bonneville SE - 178k - :beerchug:

I've seen this car sitting less than a block from my house for awhile now and last week the guy finally put it in the driveway with $500 across the windshield. Had water in the oil & it just so happens I kept the 3.8L from the 01 Grand Prix GT that ...

Re: Swapping 3.8L from 01 Grand Prix GT to 03 Bonneville! HE

Swapping 3.8L from 01 Grand Prix GT to 03 Bonneville! HELP!

Pulled the motor & trans from my buddies 01 Grand Prix GT from his car before he sent it to the scrap yard & today we came across an 03 Bonneville that still runs & drives but definitely needs a motor. I'm not sure if it's the SE or SLE model but it does have the upgraded sound, cloth seats, no ...

Re: Trans Issue

Dropped the pan and sure enough the chunk of metal you described was in there. I drove the car for 2 weeks or so the way it was but only to work and back because it is a straight shot on the highway and didn't want the excess wear on the trans. Have the trans out now and was going to have it rebuilt ...

Re: Trans Issue

I will be doing that tomorrow to check as I am still having the problem, though I have not been driving the car unless it's on the expressway, don't like to have to stop, go, stop, go as I would driving through town. If it is the forward band is it hard to replace it?

Trans Issue

Okay, went to leave for work yesterday morning and after backing out of the drive I put the car in drive and it wouldn't move, just revved up. Finally I put it into 1st gear and it kind of slammed into gear, but it allowed the car to drive as it normally would, I just manually shifted it on the way ...

Re: Window question on 2000 SSEi

I havn't taken the door panel off yet to see the problem, the window goes up / down very easily when someone pulls it up or down, and it right on track.

Re: Window question on 2000 SSEi

Window seal being the outer window trim that's cracked / faded & chipped like all other 3 of them? The window has always been slow in winter months when put down over half way, but it always worked fine during summer months till now.

Window question on 2000 SSEi

The passenger front window in my car has been getting slower and slower when going back up over the last year, especially during winter months. If I put it down it will go up about 1/2 inch at a time if I give it 5 min inbetween trying to roll it up. It now doesn't go up or down, but can be pulled ...

Re: Fuel Pump Ass. Replacement?

Well I actually got a "high performace" pump off eBay and after I had it dropped in and hooked up it has worked flawlessly. Came with a lifetime warranty too so if it ever fails, I'll warranty it!

Re: Rear doors loose?

Like I said before, if the doors are shut and I push on the rear drivers door it has about 1/4" of play - not quite as much on the passengers rear door but neither of the front doors have much play at all.

I did the rear shocks with Monroes - mounts as well. I have ball joints, front tie rods ...

Rear doors loose?

Both rear doors on my car rattle when going over a good sized bump / pothole, drivers side is louder than the pass. though - if I push on the door from the outside when it's closed it has some play in it but when I'm driving down the road I hear no air leaks from the back of the car.

The sound is ...

Are the fuel tanks the same or different? Should I expect any problems with the A/C parts bolting right up?

Re: Parts Interchange Question

Well I have a random miss in one of my cylinders that happens whenever it pleases - the only thing I havn't replaced is my coil pack so I think I'd rather know they're newer and work 100% if it would'nt cause any problems.

Parts Interchange Question

Buddy has a 01 Grand Prix GT that will be going to the scrapyard soon - I already plan on getting everything I can from the A/C system, coils and other misc motor parts but everything was in perfect mechanical condition before the windows were smashed out of the car so I'm curious if there are any ...

Re: Almost Paidoff :) Winter 2013/14 Plans

Good to know, I'll remember that! I'm occasionally having a misfire always on the same cylinder so i'll be replacing the coil pack in the next couple weeks anyways.

I had plans on doing headers as well, I just havn't mapped out what all I'd like to do when I acquire a spare motor & rebuild it ...

So September will officially be my last payment on the Bonneville and I'll be picking up a second job in the next couple weeks. As soon as it's paid off I'm buying a winter beater & the Bonneville will be moving into ...

Re: Code P0401 or trans issue?

How can you tell if the EGR has build up? I took it off & looked inside, looked normal to me, black but it was open but the valve isnt stuck, it almost seemed like it was too flimsy though because tilting it around I could hear a little ting inside the EGR but didn't really sound like anything was ...
