Re: VIDEO: How to change fuel sending unit

Just ordered the ACDelco part from Amazon for $26.74...being an Amazon Prime member I get free two-day shipping. Comes with the whole kit, but of course you only need the one piece. Here's the link if anyone is interested:

Oxygen Sensor Location

Getting ready to change oxygen sensors and was told there were four. Tried doing some looking as to where they are located but haven't found where all four are. Any pointers?

Re: Low oil and Antifreeze

Actually, decided to tackle the job this afternoon and went ahead and replaced the upper and lower manifold gaskets. Hope this solves my problem!

Re: Low oil and Antifreeze

Yeah I've done a replacement before on my 96 Bonneville so I know how to do it...just wanted to be sure that the issue was the intake manifold gaskets.

Re: Low oil and Antifreeze

Not sure about if the upper was replaced or not. It's been just over the past 2,000 miles or so.

Low oil and Antifreeze

I have an 04 Bonneville with just over 100,000 miles. I'm guessing I'm about 2 quarts low on oil and there's no antifreeze in the tank. The previous owner replaced the intake manifold gasket (with the good one). Is it the gasket again? Help please!

Stereo Volume on Startup

Lately I've notice my stereo volume (sometimes even radio station) changing. It's happens when the key goes from the "on" position to "start" (to start vehicle) and then back to on. It's almost like right after I start the engine it's going to a different user setting like other vehicles have. Any ...

Re: Bad Gas Mileage

I got 19.2 mpg on my last fill up. Thats 50% highway and 50% city. Is this typical fuel economy?

Re: Bad Gas Mileage

I might try cleaning the sensors. Heard that air filter doesn't affect gas mileage, just performance...(http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/maintain.shtml). Also found out that there have been people in my neighborhood siphoning gas from vehicles at night...so just bought a locking gas cap hoping that ...

Re: Bad Gas Mileage

They are Duralast wires and AutoLite Platinum plugs. Already fixed the gauge issue and calculate my mileage with the distance I travel and the amount of gas I put in.

Re: Bad Gas Mileage

I've already had the whole gauge cluster replaced, and I've also calculated my gas mileage during each full up by the amount of gas I put in. It is a meticulously maintained vehicle and has new plugs and wires about 1,000 miles ago. I have also run fuel injector cleaner through the tank recently.

Bad Gas Mileage

I have noticed a drop is gas mileage recently...currently I have used half a tank and gone 99 miles. This tank reflects 100% city driving, however it doesn't do much better on the highway. Any suggestions on where I should look to improve this? My initial thought is maybe the O2 sensors, but I'm not ...

Re: Compressor Noise from Rear End

Mainly just within the first minute. The only other time I noticed is when I pulled into a parking space and left the car running for a few minutes and it did it again during that time frame.

Compressor Noise from Rear End

I just purchased my '04 Bonneville last week and have noticed a compressor noise from the rear end upon startup and sometimes while driving. I'm assuming this is for the suspension, however, is it supposed to be that loud? Wondering if this is a sign of it failing and its almost time to replace it ...

Re: Speedometer Issue

I went ahead and sent my instrument cluster to the Speedometer Repair Guy, who was mentioned in a previous post. I called and told him my issues and he said it was a stepper motor issue. He charges $105 to replace all the stepper motors and ship it back.

It was VERY simple to remove the cluster. I ...

Temperature Gauge and Fan

My 2004 Bonneville instrument cluster is going nuts. My temperature gauge is off the charts, pointing at 6 o'clock. Does this interfere with the operation of my fans? I haven't found a clearcut answer concerning this. I just don't want to be driving it around risking it overheating. Help, please!

Re: Speedometer Issue

I just bought a 2004 Bonneville 2 days ago. As I was driving home today, I noticed my fuel gauge was not functioning...it was still at the point when the car is turned off. Then after making another trip today, the temperature gauge went off the charts!! It points at 6 o'clock. Then, my speedometer ...
