Compressor Noise from Rear End

Post by stevenmamos »

I just purchased my '04 Bonneville last week and have noticed a compressor noise from the rear end upon startup and sometimes while driving. I'm assuming this is for the suspension, however, is it supposed to be that loud? Wondering if this is a sign of it failing and its almost time to replace it...let me know your thoughts.

You should be able to hear it.

How often do you hear it while driving?

Mainly just within the first minute. The only other time I noticed is when I pulled into a parking space and left the car running for a few minutes and it did it again during that time frame.

Shouldn't be too much to worry about. The compressor will always cycle itself for a few seconds within the first 30 to 45 seconds of startup, no matter what. I can always hear mine from the cabin.
