aurora wheels on an intrigue

Would aurora wheels fit my intrigue? The width is 1/2 more on the aurora wheels, but I am more concerned about the center hole fitting the hub correctly. Anyone have input?

cost of chroming..

I have no clue how much it may cost to have wheels chromed. None at all. set of 4 flawless and 100% original silver painted wheels from a 1999 Olds Intrigue. I am trying to find a decent set of chromes, but maybe it would be cheaper / easier / safer to just have these chromed? Anyone have any clue ...

Re: did someone here buy my Mom's 2000 SSEI in updstate NY?

Yep, I had first refusal, but I had just bought another car for myself and I now have a 17 year old driving so the insurance on the SSEI was not attractive.. But it broke my heart to hear it left the family. It was black on black, 50K, everything option imaginable except for the chrome wheels. Not a ...

did someone here buy my Mom's 2000 SSEI in updstate NY?

Back it into the garage on a sheet of plastic to keep any dampness from the concrete away from the undercarriage, cover. Check in on her once in a while so she knows I still love her.

Re: fuel line repair kit?

One line is the vapor line, so I could patch that with fuel line hose. One line is the return, I can do the same on that, I can't imagine that carries much pressure. The feed line is the one I am concerned about.. it has a threaded fitting that goes into the fuel filter. That should be steel. Is ...

fuel line repair kit?

This is for my 1999 Olds eighty-eight. I changed the fuel filter last night, and the 3 lines are real crispy at the fuel filter area. On this car the nylon lines come off the tank almost to the frame rail. That section just in front of the rear wheel is nasty, but they are still shiny about 12 ...

Re: Why no towing with an SSEi?

IMHO, it's just a general rule to keep some idiot from hooking up a camper because they assume with the levelride and extra power it could handle it. Common sense plays a part here... if you just want to grab a dozen 2 x 4's twice a year with one of those toy trailers you get at Sam's club and you ...

Re: 99 olds eighty eight hesitation, sag, stumble

I love the feedback, because I too have wondered if all this was spark being retarded.. It really is the only thing I haven't looked into. Is there more than one on this car? And if it is only a one-wire sensor, what would happen if I just disconnected it? A few years ago, I was parting out a honda ...

Re: 99 olds eighty eight hesitation, sag, stumble

Interesting you should mention this... because I've often wondered if GM just tweaked the programming to get a little better fuel economy to keep the govt happy, also knowing that it was the last year for the eighty-eight... and therefore have the sucker about as lean as possible.
That said, yes ...

99 olds eighty eight hesitation, sag, stumble

120k on the odometer. babied and maintained. I've had this slight hesitation off idle (like at a redlight) and a sag at low speeds for thousands of miles, like 70,000 miles. Can feel it sag and surge ever so slightly on a slow speed cruise, like 35mph on a flat smooth country road. I have never been ...

2000 ssei rear window fell down

Mom's car... left rear window just dropped. Right rear did the same thing a few years back, Mom got the part and I installed it, but I don't know what part to get. Seems to me the whole regulator assembly from Dorman maybe? I don't remember.. I'm not interested in a used part. Please advise.. thanks ...

Re: heaater plastic elbows, heater core inlet restricter

Bill: Yes, it is a checkvalve, according to the dealer. 27 bucks, special order, very very very little activity on this part, makes me think no one ever buys it. I can't imagine that this part could affect how then engine cools, rather, I would think it may goof with heat output, but based on how ...

if this is a $200 dealer item has anyone just restricted the flow in that elbow with, say, a piece of hose inserted into that elbow?

heaater plastic elbows, heater core inlet restricter

1999 olds eighty-eight, finally got bit by the plastic elbow monster. No problem, looks like dorman has both elbows for very cheap. HOWEVER, while everything was apart, I figured I would also change the O-rings on the metal fittings for the heater hoses.. and when I pulled the metal inlet elbow out ...

Yep, I have the service manual for a 95 also, and I checked it out last night. My hope was that one of you gearheads would say "3rd one in from the driver's side"... I guess I was just being lazy. Anyway, just did it, took 5 minutes. Thanks! BTW, it IS the 3rd one in from the driver's side on ...

Re: 95 lesabre abs relay

Yes, that would work. So would crushing the car! Trying to help a coworker during my lunch, pull the correct relay and underdash fuse can get it done in 5 - 10 minutes. Can pull all the relays out and find the correct color coded wires for that circuit, or go by process of elimination, but thought ...

95 lesabre abs relay

Co worker has an old 95 lesabre, abs has failed, he wants the light off for good. I've done this many times on this generation of car, but I can't find which relay is the ABS relay. It has always been with that bank of relays on the firewall under the hood in my bonny, and my two olds eighty-eights ...
