Re: Hard starting, but only about 20 minutes after shutting

There are two one is below throttle body, temp sensor, the coolant temp sending sensor is back right top of upper intake and a bit of a cluster **** to get at.The sending unit is the one that caused my car to have similar issues as yours, poor fuel mileage and hard starting. The oxygen sensor on mine ...

If it is the sunroof drain, use some good glue to adhere it when you put it back on or it will come off again in the future, happened to me.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

I have to start this post by saying that I love this car!!That being said recently I had some very pricey decisions to make. The subframe needed replacing and the trany was slipping.I decided that I really hate the newer cars along with the high price tags that come along with them.I now have a ...

Re: SSEi steering pump

The warranty on the delco pump I got required it to be changed.I was like you and wondered why,but decided for 17 bucks more I would replace it.Maybe yours won't require the hose as mine did.??

Re: SSEi steering pump

It can be moved to the new pump.Just a heads up,the high pressure line should be replaced along with the pump, most manufacturers require this as part of the warranty.

Re: 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SE. Weird noises from the front.

I see you are from up north, the road salts are brutal on these cars.I would suggest having someone inspect the subframe bushings as these can rust out and when they do it will make a noise when turning because they are no longer attached. This condition can be dangerous, there are several posts about ...

That shield goes on the drivers side over the crossover near the rear drivers side,J Wicoff nailed it.One of the bolts goes between the throttle body and intake.

Re: DIC Lamp Warnings

I had these same two issues with my car,the low coolant sensor is on the passenger side half way down the the radiator.I pulled it out and plugged the leak with rubber gloves.I then cleaned the buildup on it and put it back in,problem solved. The third brake light was a bad socket and a frayed wire.I ...

Re: 1993 SSE S/C Power Steering Pump replacement

When I did mine I disconected the hoses from under the car.I took mine out through the wheel well.I also took off the oil pressure sensor to protect it from damage, you will be right near it and it only takes a small impact to screw the sensor up.The pump will only come out after you find the right ...

Re: What you don't see of the evaporator dirt/debris buildup

Thats pretty bad, when I first cleaned mine it looked like someone lost a wool sweater in there.I cleaned it 4 years later and it was covered again,*dang* cottonwood trees here in Iowa really put out a lot of cottony crap.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Today I replaced the 21 year old blower motor that failed last week, also cleaned evap core while I had it open.I opted for a new delco blower, glad I did.I now have about 40 percent better air flow, most of which is the new blower because the evap core was not that bad,I had cleaned it previously and ...

See if the button on the shifter is fully releasing, mine would stick a little and not let the key come out.

Signal booster for AM and FM

I bought one for my car because the AM signals were weak at best.I also got a lot of static, probably because it is an older car.I got it on Ebay for around $5 shipped,it is powered and connects between antennae lead and radio.I wired it to my cigarette lighter near the radio. The thing works great I ...

These gauges are not the most accurate. Mine is off by ten degrees. Those temps seem pretty normal for these cars though.I think the low speed fan is commanded on at 212 and high is 220 or so.

Try hitting the starter with a hammer,a few taps,do not hit the solenoid, just the bigger body of the starter.

Re: Climate control problem

When I had this problem it was a vac line under the dash, drivers side.Check the ones under the hood first looking for cracks and dry rot as this is the most likely place,if not there then look under dash.
