Armstrong steering (no more power!!)

Lost my power seering today, and the fluid is right up. I had no moaning or humming, everything seemed fine untill... nothing. I have a spare power steering pump from my 94 se, but I'm not sure if a series I pump will Fit on my series II engine. The pump isnt even in the same place, its way lower on ...

Re: How do you replace ball joints?

I found it easier to get at with the sway bar end links out of the way. I tried to be gentle, and still snapped them off. Bought a new set for $10, made the job much easier, and the new end links tightened every thing up just as much as the ball joint did.

Re: How to: Run a 4ga power wire through firewall for amps

Wish I would have seen this before I crawled under, over and through every inch of my fire wall looking for a suitable spot. I ended up fishing mine through the fender to the inside of the door, where I snuck it inside the flex boot. Sorry the pics are so blurry, a photographer, I'm not.

How to squeeeze a 6" speaker in the door?

Any tips for this? I put some 6" sony explodes in my last bonnie, and was never happy with the resulting rattle. Now I have a much nicer bonneville, and much nicer speakers, so I guess I need to do a much nicer install eh? (sorry, Canadian eh.) I just picked up a new set of Exile components, the XIT ...

Re: speakers cut out at high volume.

Thanks for the reply's, I'm actually relieved now, at least I know whats going on. My speakers are running off the deck, only the sub is amped. I will be disconnecting my tweets as soon as I get home, (I'm camping in niagra falls right now.) Thanks again.

speakers cut out at high volume.

Hi guys, Ive noticed that my stock speakers cut out when I crank my system. The amp keeps pounding, but my door and deck speakers go dead. Ive noticed that this is the worst when I have the fader set to zero. Either all front, or all rear its not as bad. Ive also noticed that my tweeter in the door ...

Spit shined my engine!

Just tore my engine down to change a bad LIM gasket, which turned out to be a great time to scrub behind the ears.

LIM/UIM torque specs

Hello again. Doing a LIM gasket, having a little troubles with torque specs. I torqued the LIM to 89 in/lbs yesterday, and something just didnt seem right with the plastic upper being the same torque. I checked techinfo and it states a value for intake manifold, but does not differentiate between ...

Re: sssmokin!!

Ahh, I see. I think. If this is the case with my car, what is my best course of action? Does this mean that I should still purchase a UIM to get the reduced diameter stovepipe? I saw the repair kit, but for an extra $30 I can get a whole new intake plenumn, so why settle for just the repair kit. I ...

Re: sssmokin!!

After reading the techinfo article, I believe that the LIM gasket is gone, but I haven't given up on my UIM yet. I am going to purchase the gaskets first, do the tear down and inspect the UIM, and if I need to, I will order the APN kit. Since the intake on there is a 2001, would it not allready have ...

sssmokin!!

Not in a good way either. White smoke. uggg. Only had the car a month or so. I have also found little puddles on the rear portion of the LIM, so I'll be ordering a APN kit very soon. I checked the date on my UIM, and it was manufactured in 01 and has the delphi sticker on it, so I know it has ...

no lights on air suspension buttons.

I can't feel a noticable difference when I switch between. I have allready checked the plugs on the rear struts, and they look OK. Also from time to time I can hear my comressor kick in, so I know that works.

HUD swap?

OK, I love my ride. But... Its not an SSEi. Right now I can't afford to buy a SSEi, but a friend has a donor car that I can rape and pillage for parts. One feature the SSEi has that I would love is the HUD. How much is involved in this, and is this possible considering that the SSEi is a 92, and my ...
