Both of these odors are only noticable when one of the windows are down.
The first odor is a fuel odor. It only happens when I have between a full and 3/4 tank of gas and have the window down while driving. If I am parked still and window down there is nothing. When I'm at about half a tank of gas ...

Re: rear air shocks
Well this was just about the easiest fix I've ever done. I did exactly what the guy in my previous post did, and took out the bolt for the rear suspension frame mount on the drivers side. To my disbelief it didn't take much effort to remove the bolt since it was already WAY too loose. I cleaned the ...

Re: rear air shocks
I actually found another post right here: http://pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=13804&p=145308&hilit=rattle+body+mounts#p145308
I do believe this is where my rattling is coming from. It's the same exact place I'm hearing the rattle and this person's description matches mine ...

Re: rear air shocks
Alright I got them put on and fixed the right way. I found a picture that helped me out. But that still didn't fix my rattling/clunk noise. The noise is coming from the left rear tire area and it rattles when I drive over small bumps in the road no matter what speed. But if I'm driving slow over a ...

rear air shocks
I've been looking around for a closeup picture of the rear mount part but cant seem to find one. I took the shocks and mounts off in such a hurry that when it came time for me to put the new shocks and mounts in I forgot which position the washers and mounts even go on. I know there are two concave ...

Front Airbag Sensor
Well I took my car to a friends garage and he had a scanner capable of reading Chassis codes. My Airbag light along with Service Air Bag have been on for as long as I've owned the car and figured I need to get it fixed finally. The code was for the front airbag sensor. I ordered the part and waiting ...

Re: ticking/tapping noise while in gear
Well after bringing it to the shop they diagnosed it as an exhaust leak. I checked the tranny fluid and all was good not burnt and didnt smell bad so I ruled that out. I knew it couldnt be drivetrain because it didnt make the noise all the time. The shop found my leak at the flex pipe in between the ...

Re: wheel bearing bolt stuck 02 SSEi
Yeah thats why I didnt want to heat it also. I went to sears and bought this pack of damaged bolt/nut remover sockets. I didnt give it a try yet since its been raining a lot but when it clears up in a few days I'll get to it. And maybe actually get my driver's seat out so I can repair the wiring to ...

wheel bearing bolt stuck 02 SSEi
i was about to replace yet another wheel bearing on my 02 SSEi and upon removing the brakes and getting everything out of the way i got the bearing to knuckle bolts and got 2 of the bolts removed but one of them is stuck in there good and is stripped. i went to the dealership and bought 3 new bolts ...

ticking/tapping noise while in gear
I have been hearing a ticking/tapping noise for a while now in my 02 SSEi. It has almost 140,000 miles on it. At first I kinda brushed it off as lifter tick or piston slap but now I think I narrowed it down to possibly the transmission. The car makes the ticking noise no matter if the engine is cold ...

Re: trying to remove wheel bearing
That's the route we had to go. There was NOTHING left for threads on the axle and i mean NOTHING. He just disconnected the tie rod, ball joint and strut so the knuckle was free, then took the whole assembly out including the bearing, knuckle and axle. put the new parts in and it was done. took 2 ...

ticking noise and power loss
Since I have had this car, which is almost a year, there has always been a ticking noise. It doesnt matter if the engine is cold or hot. The thing is the ticking noise is only prominent when I am revving the engine or accelerating. If the engine is idling you cannot hear it. The higher the engine ...

ok i was searching and came upon this thread about spark plug recommendations. i just seafoamed my intake (loved the smokeshow) and wanted to change out the plugs and was going to put in some ngk tr55's but i did a search on advance auto parts and seen there were 3 kinds. there were nickel, platinum ...

Re: trying to remove wheel bearing
I still havent had the chance to change it out due to being put on graveyard shift at work. But this week I will finally get the time to bring it to the shop and have them change it. The bearing is humming much louder now also so I need to get this changed soon. He said he will try to get the nut ...

Re: trying to remove wheel bearing
Well I have up and brought it to my friends garage. They put heat to it and found out that there was nothing left for threads and that nut isnt coming off. He thinks that someone mustve screwed the nut on with an impact gun and stripped the threads by screwing it on crooked. So I went and bought a ...

Re: trying to remove wheel bearing
I plan on getting a different breaker bar indeed. From the looks of the bearing it looks like the original and my car has almost 130,000 miles on it. No wonder its humming and throwing an ABS code.

Re: trying to remove wheel bearing
My breaker bar was a decent size and thickness and when I put a lot of force on it it was bending. With mine, the area where the threads are is rusted so bad that there doesnt appear to even be any more threads. If that makes sense. Any idea where I can get a bigger and stronger tube/bar like the ...

Re: trying to remove wheel bearing
well i tried using the impact gun and PB blaster and it still will not come loose. I really dont think I will be able to change this wheel bearing without putting in a new CV axle. There are no visible threads left to the end of the cv axle because the rust ruined it, therefore that is why i cant ...
