Okay. Final Update bump. Lemme sum this up real quick for ya.
Got all the wiring to the PCM handled. Redid PCM ground. Solenoid harness showed correct voltage in both open and closed operation with Tech2.
Purge solenoid turned out to be shot. Fixed that. Still EVAP leak somewhere and accompanying ...

Nothing really, but I'm having the whole body redone. Every little dent\ding will be filled and sanded, and it will be painted and clearcoated. I can't wait.

Is the light still on? and did they have to remove it to test?Dopey85 wrote:Well I took the alternator that was orginally in it to advance auto parts and had it test it was fine. So I'm guessing that I was just leaving something on somewhere. I don't know... It seems to work fine now.

Re: 2nd battery install.
If you really want to hold yourself back in audio, go ahead, waste your time getting two or more different batteries and then after that dump the money into an isolator.
Just use 0 gauge. Do it right and the best way the 1st time. 0 isn't much more. It's safe.
And use three fuses, it's safer.

Re: Pulled codes... ideas?
Paul, considering the high impedance input of a voltmeter, the load during the measurement is negligible, and therefore, even with a single strand or two remaining in the conductor, full potential would be measured. He used a meter to determine the voltage across both pins of each device in that ...

Re: Pulled codes... ideas?
Yeah so turns out Archon is right, and I had to run my new grounds back into the PCM harness. Fun. I had DTCs this morning for both solenoid circuits. Motor seemed like it was running a little rich, that was probably due to the canister vent being closed and the purge valve being open.

Front lip mod
My friend is really into Hyundai Tiburons, and he was over today so we could do this mod to his car, and he suggested that I try it on mine.
It's only about $20 in materials. The lip is actually garage door bottom from Home Depot...
I think it came out beautifully, but what do you guys think?

Awesome. I can't live without low frequencies. You better promise to do install pics.lewis26 wrote:Yes, dual 4ohm coils.
It will be wired in parallel, to get the 500w at 2ohm from the amp.
Everything has shipped and will be delivered next week. Installing next weekend for sure now.

Pulled codes... ideas? [Finished...EVAP Delete]
I've got:
P0300 - Engine random misfire
P0446 - EVAP performance
P1441 - EVAP flow during non-purge
I think the EVAP codes are the relay being grounded constantly...I'm not sure though.
Are these related in any way? I've long suspected my MAF is going on the car, but no hard evidence yet.

Your Type R is dual 4 ohm coils, right?
and and it's not like the magnet on a type E is that huge, lol.

Re: Volt Light On
just make sure it's plugged in correctly and tightly.
the alt wouldnt put out power unless the PCM triggered it to, so the cable has to be in somewhat. it sounds like the PCM wire (and the dash wire) keep disconnecting and reconnecting to the alternator, possibly because the plug is loose.
