Re: Um, my DIC won't reset

And you can't always assume the original poster won't see it. :)

I've also never been a fan of starting new threads over adding to previous discussions. Since I sold my Bonnie I'm not here much anymore, but I am still subscribed to some posts, particularly those that I started. FWIW, I never did ...

Re: GXP-MPG ?

Don't take this wrong, but maybe you'd be better off selling the Bonne and getting something more economical. How much are you going to spend trying to achieve a few extra mpgs on a car that wasn't built for its economy? The Bonneville GXPs (or any of Pontiac's GXPs for that matter) are not economy ...

Re: Interior Rattles

I developed a rattle in my sunroof at the beginning of winter that I am 99% sure is the wind deflector. One of the tabs had broken off it at one point and I glued it back on but I'm guessing it broke off again and is now rattling. I think the springs for same need to be 'rebent' a little as well to ...

Re: Fog Lights?

I replaced both fog lights in February 2010 when I bought the car. They've lasted almost 2 years, but I replaced one a couple weeks ago and should have done both because the other went out a week later. I guess they have them down to a life science.

Edit: BTW, it is definitely easier to replace ...

Re: ready to drool? PVD'd GXP's

Wow. Those wheels made my pants a little tight. :P

So, did the same company repair them that coated them? Mine look similar to your before pictures, maybe not quite as bad but some definite curb hits by previous owner. I assume you just ship them in 4 separate boxes?

Re: Um, my DIC won't reset

Nope. I've taken the button panel apart and cleaned the little carbon contacts and circuit board several times, not that they ever appear dirty. Each time I do that it works for a short time and then starts doing it again. I'm not sure if cleaning the contacts is allowing it to reset, or if ...

Re: DIC issues

You know what, I may have mispoken. I just went back to the manual and I guess you can set it in the DIC to move either to your memory position or the exit position when pushing the button to unlock the doors. It apparently does not go to the exit position when you pull the key; you have to push the ...

Re: DIC issues

When I bought my Bonnie it had an aftermarket starter in it as well, with one starter keyfob. I replaced both OEM keyfobs and use the starter keyfob for just that, starting the car. The OEM's are linked to Driver 1 and 2 (I had to have them programmed at the dealer but I bought them online) and ...

Re: Another leak.........

The plugs he's talking about are the big round flat metal grommets in the floor pan. You can see the outlines of them in this picture:

Re: Found trunk leak - need advice

I had the same issue when I bought my Bonnie and I actually rectified it with hot glue, but the OEM stuff they used may be a better bet, if applied correctly. Also check for leaks at the rear sunroof drain tube connection points in the trunk, if applicable, and the rear shock towers. Given your ...

Re: Click when stopping, can't find a source.....

I read titles of TSBs online and saw some for a ticking noise caused by a broken flexplate in the tranny. Is that the issue? None of them talk about a solenoid clip but I was only seeing the titles.

Re: Click when stopping, can't find a source.....

Update... so the dealer says that they now can't hear the clicking sounds and can't find the tsb for the transmission.

I fax the tsb to them and they call back and say "that tsb is for the 4t80e transmission and your car ('05 gxp) has the 4t65e trans".

I am holding my tongue and cursing the ...

Re: GXP Throwing P0135 & P0155

Cool. Hope it was just that.

As long as I have your attention...I recently passed the 75k mile mark on my GXP. Should I have the transmission serviced at this point? I've read here that these transmissions start to have issues at around 75k. Also, the issue some have reported of the clicking sound ...

Re: GXP Throwing P0135 & P0155

I've been around. Just haven't had as much time to hang out here. Work's been crazy busy. Plus with winter here all the Bonnie projects came to a seasonal halt.

So the SEL was on all the way to work this morning (30 min. commute). Then after work when I started the car it didn't come on and was ...

GXP Throwing P0135 & P0155

Greetings Techies,

My service engine light came on yesterday when I left work and it stayed on. It came on again when I started it this morning so I plugged my OBD reader in and it returned P0135 & P0155. Translates to:

OBD II P0135 Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
OBD ...

Re: Almost time for new tires for the GXP.

Guess I jumped back into this post at the right time, cuz I just put the Conti ExtremeContact DWS tires on mine too. They were dang hard to find - national backorder on them. Strangely enough though, after all that a small local tire shop was able to get them for me and at the lowest price I'd seen ...
