I miss this car!
Do you rustproof or do any other treatment/prevention?
I noticed how clean it was around the filler on the inside of the fender so I did spray a good coat of rocker panel tar coating around it. Other than that just lots of wax and tons of car washes in the winter after every ...

Re: 2000 SSEi still around!
Thanks Eric. It actually does get a fair bit of interest at the Friday night car cruises around town! People see it as a Grampa car until I open the hood and show off the specs/mods!

Re: mildewy smell when I turn on my air
Hmmmmm....I just went to check mine and found it was missing! Think that's going to be a problem? I do get the musty smell just when the car is hot and the air first starts working.

2000 SSEi still around!
Hey everyone! It's been a while but the White Lightening is still going strong! Last year it made the trip to Charlotte for the fall Nascar chase race. There's over 230,000km on it now. NO gas door filler rust to be found (now that's rare!). Last year I found a set of Alcoa 18" rims off an 07 GP GXP ...

Re: rattle??
Look at your rear body mounts. They rust out and the bolt will rattle around the bigger hole opening. It's an easy fix. Remove the bolt (you have to work around the emergency brake cable that runs through it if it's the driver's side), and put on an oversized washer then bolt her backup. Hopefully ...

Re: 2000 Bonnevile AC
I had the identical problem. I filled the AC refrigerent my self with a DIY kit. Still had the problem. Before I tore my whole dash apart for the actuator fix I went to a professional AC mechanic. He purged my system and refilled it.

If it is one of the wheel speed sensors on the front don't you have to repalce the entire hub?

Re: A couple of pics of my GXP...
Well as long as you get a G8 GXP as a company car, I could see your reasoning for selling the Bonnie, but since that won't happen I hope you can figure out a way to keep it (or at least keep in the Bonneville family)! That was a nice ride I took in it back in the spring. Gotta love that V8 groan ...

I'll be there for sure. I'm attending with the Ontario Grand Prix club this year and taking the GXP. There should be about 35 of us there! Maybe see you there Erik!
Last year there were over 450 cars!

Re: 2010 GM Powertrain St. Catharines Show & Shine Event
I've been to it for the last few years. The Ontario Grand Prix club usually wins for most members present (usually around 40-50 cars alone), plus a few corvette clubs. There's probably about 400-500 cars overall that show up for the day. I had a plant tour last year, saw them putting heads on a V8 ...

Those are Lisa's numbers Mike! She won't let me "test" out that guage.....seems there's a direct corelation between it and the gas gauge!ChilinMichael wrote:Congrats Brian, that's one good looking car!

looked a little chilly guys
Always good to see a little get together now and then. Pics look good as usual Jerry, even with the overcast day.
Well at least it wasn't raining or 100 mph wind Jim!
It was nice to see the gang all survived another Canadian winter, but like Jerry said ...
