Re: 1995 Oldsmobile LSS Supercharged - Engine Knock
Yeah, try taking the SC belt off, and the other belt too. Run it just long enough to see if the noise changes both ways. I once had a belt that had a tear in it that made the tensioner jump and it made it seem like the engine had a knock.

Re: 1995 Oldsmobile LSS Supercharged - Engine Knock
Searched a bit and some suggested it could be a flex plate, Harmonic balancer, or coupler inside the nose cone. Someone also suggested to unhook the supercharger belt and see if its still there.

1995 Oldsmobile LSS Supercharged - Engine Knock
I'm looking at a 95 LSS with the supercharged engine. Owner thinks its a head gasket issue, car starts and idles fine but when engine is over 1500 rpm it has a knocking sound. Any idea what this could be?

Re: 1989 Bonnevelle stalling at idle - MAF Code 34
No MAP, just MAF.

You can usually confirm a broken MAF by tapping the sensor with the handle of a screwdriver. If the car stalls, it's dead for sure.
Rock auto suggests that the MAF is not interchangeable with the L27, only the LN3. However, it is ...

1989 Bonnevelle stalling at idle - MAF Code 34
89 Stalling at idle when stopping at intersections. Pulled code 34 - MAF. Cleaned the MAF as one of the 2 resistors was dirty. Still doing the same.
Is the MAF used in these vehicles only 89-91 or will one from a newer car work as well? My local junkyard only carries 93 and up cars.

Re: Climate Control Dead after checking HU connections
Found the issue - power antenna fuse blew, must have shorted somehow. Power antenna is disconnected as it broke years ago so left the HU blue Power antenna wire disconnected and taped off.

Climate Control Dead after checking HU connections
Was checking an issue with my aftermarket HU and found and replaced a broken fuse holder. Checked the HU and it worked fine so slid it back into place and secured with screws and reassembled dash. Tried HU and it no longer worked. Climate control now dead as well. Checked fuses and wiring and all ...

1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Frnt Wheel Bearing Re n Re
Bearings on one side of front are making a grinding noise and getting louder. When turning left they are quiet, straight and turning right they are noisy. Is there a how to on changing these and do I need to buy the hub that has the bearings pre installed/lubed or can I just replace the bearings?

Re: Olds 88 Won't Start
yes the pump will prime in on position and if its good, it will hold the pressure one power is cut.
buget way to test this is push the valve with pump on and priming - take note of how fuel sprays...... then do the same with pump primed but in off position..........proper way is with guage that ...

Re: Olds 88 Won't Start
You can take the black plastic cap off the Schrader valve on the fuel rail but it will only tell you if there is fuel and any pressure---not how much pressure.
The fuel should squirt, rather than dribble, so that can be a clue as to the pressure.
You can also remove the intake air temp sensor on ...

Olds 88 Won't Start - Solved!
Olds 88 Royale has been sitting a week in the freezing weather, no problems until now but won't start.
Turns over fine, battery has lots of juice, seems to just about get going. Pump primes up, seems to have spark, had a similar experience a few years back and the roadside assistance guy unscrewed ...

New Exhaust Cost & Advice
My 89 Olds is in need of a new exhaust and was wondering how much roughly it will cost. Looks like it needs it from behind the converter back and the converter was previously replaced with a universal and its still good.

Re: 89 Olds 88 Rear Brakes Locking Up
You will need to wind back the self adjusters anyway, and when the new shoes are on adjust them by hand (a medium size screwdriver is all you need) until they allow the drum to slip back on with a small amount of clearance. I adjust the brake until the drum is tight to go on then back it off a bit ...

Re: New Brake Lines & Bleeding
I've seen the MC bleeder kit, do I hook the two lines up to the lower lines(mine has the lower proportioning valves coming out or them) or the upper?

New Brake Lines & Bleeding
New rear brake lines installed, Master cylinder fluid went empty but front lines were still hooked up.
Questions :
1) Does the master cylinder have a bleeder valve?
2) Some say to bleed regularly and no need to bleed the master but it will take longer to get the air out of the system. Is this ...
