Most likely giving the grand prix to my brother, and possibly buying a G8!

Looking at a g8 with just over 100k kms, looks decently clean, but its a 15 hour drive away from where i live

The other grand prix i looked at burned coolant

Purchased a 2008 pontiac grand prix, 76000 kms on the engine, not a spec of rust (never winter driven),
rear seats have never been sat in!!

Time to fix the bonneville in my free time.

Turns out the car burned coolant, and was driven on a dry radiator.

So i my bonneville requires alot of work and time to fix the piston slap,

so im considering buying a 2007 grand prix i have found. The grand prix requires a tune up to pass emissions and a sway link
and wipers to pass safety with low mileage (103000kms)

Keeping it with pontiac though!!

I took the bottom apart, and narrowed it down to a piston slap.

Harmonic Balancer lifters and rods changed and still has the noise

So tomorrow ill be taking the oil pan off and taking a look

Literally exact same problem i have.

I changed the harmonic balancer and it still makes the noise, so tomorrow im going to try the lifters and pushrods.

Let me know if you figure this out.

Also is your oil pressure normal? rpm normal?

And oil pressure is perfectly fine.

Okay to begin the sound seems to be in the middle top of the engine, the engine has been absolutely perfect until it made this noise, the car didnt make any noise, then after 2 days of not driving the car at start up it made this noise, as rpm are increased the noise goes away, never had a leak and ...

Been a while since i last posted, but the bonneville is making a knocking sound.

The knocking sound is very similar to the knocking sound a harmonic balancer would make, thus i changed the harmonic balancer, unfortunately it wasnt that.

Im thinking it might be the lifters but not completely sure ...

cleaned the bonneville inside out.

shes never been this clean

now only to oil the doors so they dont squeek and shes perfect

deff go with the bonneville, im 18 and i love my bonnie, although its not the most attractive car (in the eyes of every other student) i love it, shes got power, room, and perfect for camping.

what i did was went to the scrap and pulled a basically new compressor out, i dont know if its worth the trouble to only remove the clutch

but thats just my opinion

recently i particularly saw 2 pontiac bonneville GXPs for sale

the first the seller was convinced it was a special edition transformers model (yes the movie)


the second was convinced that there were only 4 GXPs in Canada

I never understood where people got this information from

i believe you can, its just the spring height on them is different, and therefore the bonneville will sit higher.
i was going to purchase the quick strut from a park avenue but found out that it would lift my car slightly in the front and just ended up getting ones made for the bonneville.

but then ...

so i currently have a bonneville, and im seriously deciding whether i should sell it and buy a g8 or keep the bonneville.

i have no idea how the g8's are, so if you could tell me something about the g8 anything is more than welcome.
