Re: Suspension replacement for 2005 Bonneville GXP (options)
If you truly want FE5 stuff, the only route to go is used (for the front), but finding low mileage FE5 front struts is next to impossible. They KYB's are your best bet. You can still buy the FE5 rear air shocks on Rock Auto. They are about $160 per side. Honestly you're better off with some KYB's ...

Re: Weird HVAC issue
Sounds like you have a problem with your blend doors. If you look at the thread of "common problems" under HVAC it should describe in detail what is going on and how to fix it

Re: Reprogramming for different final drive
Yeah I meant 2.63. And the reason it would come out to be 3.29 is because in the HD there are 37 drive and 33 driven teeth vs 35 and 35 in the non-HD with the HD diff being a 3.29 giving that ratio rather than 2.93 in the HD application. The reason I'm considering upgrading is because I need a new ...

Reprogramming for different final drive
how exactly does one reprogram the PCM for a new final drive ratio? I'm looking to go from the 2.96 in my 03 SE to the HD diff and axle with a 3.29 ratio

Re: Rear/Side motor mounts
Okay, so I switched back to my boat roller mount. The shake is still there. If anything it feels worse now than when I had the OEM mount on there. The reason I had gone to the OEM mount was because I was driving from Ohio to Florida and didn't want the vibrations with the boat roller mount. Andrew ...

Re: Rear/Side motor mounts
Is the procedure more or less the same as the front mount? support the engine from underneath and then replace the mount?

Re: Rear/Side motor mounts
Front mount is brand new. New axles, control arms, struts, mounts, steering rack, tie rods, and wheel bearings. I feel like the engine/trans is able to move back and forth (transversely) too much right now. The vibrations seem to be RPM related, and I can hear a distinct clunk when I go into reverse ...

Re: Cant remove air line from rear shocks.
Just use a razor blade (not scissors) and cut the line off as close to the old shock as you can. Thats what I did with mine and many others have done.

I was concerned about using any penetrating oil like that around the gas tank. It won't pose a problem?

Fuel Pump Lock Ring
Today I've been trying to get my fuel pump out so I can fix my gas gauge. My lock ring is pretty rusty and will not come free. Any suggestions? A lock ring tool that anyone knows works for our cars?

"New" wheels!
I was at a pick and pull today and as I was walking out I saw these sitting all together with 4 good tires on them. I asked how much they were and the manager who is Guatemalan quoted me $300 for the set. Still a steal for what they are and their condition. I asked for a lower price and said ...

harofreak00, I was afraid of that. Looks like I can get the left one from Rock Auto and the right one from GM Parts Direct. 198 and 223 respectively.

CV Axles, what to buy?
After new wheel bearings, inner and outer tie-rods, steering rack, intermediate steering shaft, struts & mounts, and brakes, its time for some new axles. I'm getting the typical shuddering under acceleration, especially when turning, as well as some clicking. The boots seem to be fine, I'm guessing ...

Re: MA822 VS KYB SR1002 Rear Shocks
I personally have the Gabriel Skyjackers on my 03 SE. They came with all of the hardware you will need to splice into the existing air lines etc... and so far after about 3,000 miles are still working flawlessly and I'm extremely happy with the ride. I would however suggest using the KYB mounts as ...
